Crypto Currency

Anyone had a dabble?

I was told to get on bitcoin years ago but thought the lad who tipped me off was smoking crack. Turns out even a modest £1,000 investment then would have seen me become a multi millionaire now ffs

One lad I know has made about £700k on something called Ether from a few grand invested

Few of the lads are going balls deep into ripple bits as we speak

I'm weighing up a piece of the action

It looks like a volatile road but incredibly profitable if you land on the right peg

XRP having a good day 👍

A run on the "currency" you would imagine.

That's why I asked previously, if, when you cash out, they are sold on, on your behalf. Like shares.

Doesn't appear that that will happen though.

I know next to f’all about crypto but just saw that Bitcoin has surged massively this week, particularly after Trump won.

Am I right in believing that it’s doubled in value this year alone?

I just don’t fucking get any of it

I've linked 3 videos from shortest to longest about Bitcoin if you or anyone else wants to learn a bit more about it.

The only other thing I will say is Bitcoin is the one to focus on. The rest of crypto is essentially a massive casino. It's not necessarily a bad thing right now, just very speculative and risky. People will say Bitcoin is speculative and risky but if you do your research into it, you'll see it is the opposite.

I guess the issue is, that some people getting into crypto want the massive x10, x100 and x1000 type growths, you won't get that with BTC now, you may overtime get a x2.

That's why these meme coins are popular, as you can get some ridiculous growths

Doge send to be popular at the minute, but it's possibly too late for that now.

I put a spare few quid in BONK two weeks ago, and it's doubled, but it's a very low base, I'm hoping it's one of those that goes berserk like PNUT did the other week, where one jammy bastard bought $16 worth, and within 10 days he sold them for around $3M

And where did that $3M come from? For every winner, there are millions of losers.

Absolutely, that's the gamble. I'm not bothered if other people "lose" as long as I "win" which is pretty much the case with anybody buying/selling crypto.

It's obviously not for everybody, but I don't mind the gamble, as I only play with relatively small bits of spare money, as and when I have it

Indeed, the name amused me, and that was about as much research as I did. 😊

That's stocks in general TBF but Crypto is different obviously. I can't help but think it's the future in one hand and a massive scam on the other. Either way, I don't have either the time or money to fuck about with it.

Stocks are different. The companies have assets in many forms so if you do some research (DYOR) you can calculate the value .

Crypto price is solely driven by demand, it has no actual value. So basically you are betting that other people will want yours more than they want someone else's. With Social Media we have all seen trends that come and go, that is basically what happens with crypto. Someone we know has packed in work and is relying on day trading and crypto for his income. Last week it turned out £80k his dad had asked him to look after (tax dodge) has gone.

Like what happens when trading many other products. That’s kind of how it works.

Have a look at the 3 links above, I’m sure your answer will be in there 👍

That's the thing, stocks are based on a value and assets, what does crypto have to back up it's so called value?

I have, and there isn't one.

Mugs, with fantasies of getting rich.
