land_and_sea Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 For me there's nothing better than the classics shepards pie, bangers and mash, sausage rolls, yorkshire pudding. A few weeks ago tbe misses got me some Twinnings green tea. Tasted great but too strong with the caffiene. Couldn't sleep. Most of the time I get green tea or mint tea in chinatown. Thankfully I don't think I've had any laced with opiates.Fingers crossed(hah). Quote
Sweep Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 I loved the Mint Tea that I had in Morocco, fucking lovely. It was the only decent thing of the entire holiday though. Morocco is shit Quote

Morocco is shit I'd agree. All the N African countries that I've been to were crap and, if I'm honest, made me feel more uncomfortable than anywhere else I've been in the world. Had a family holiday in Morocco when I was about 15 and took a mate. We ended up going to some shanty town and getting acquainted with local 'customs' - so dodgy looking back . . . Was predictably asked to ferry drugs back to Manchester. Also saw a lad get beaten to a pulp on our first walk round the town. Quote

Morocco is shit It really is the most over rated holiday destination I've ever visited.... I don't think I've ever been as disappointed in a place as I was with Marrakech.... Quote
Sweep Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 It really is the most over rated holiday destination I've ever visited.... I don't think I've ever been as disappointed in a place as I was with Marrakech.... I did far worse than Marrakech... We were looking for a last minute holiday, and Fez came up nice and cheap (this experience taught me to do my research before booking...) - how bad can it be I thought........fuck me it was bleak. Our hotel was awful, and the food was terrible. The place was generally used for coach trips on a day visit to Fez. Our room was directly above a nightclub, which wouldn't have been so bad, had it not been a "Drum & Bass" type club, full of swarthy looking Moroccans looking for white folk to rape. It absolutely pissed it down for the full week we were there as well. We ate at McDonalds nearly every night as well, as it was the best food that we could find. Most of the town was "dry" as well, but we did find a couple of places that did serve booze....one of them was our hotel, but the bar was on the roof....and as mentioned, it was pissing it down all the time, so we couldn't even go there, as they simply closed it. Cheered me up no end reading this after I thought my Gran Canaria hols was bad due to screaming kids and intermittent sunshine. Nice one! Quote

Traf Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 I went to Agadir a couple of years ago and it was fine. So much so, i'm going back in November for half-term. I think the key is not to book yourself into a shithole. Quote
Whites man Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 I have done a bit of travelling and have liked all the places I have been except the Arab ones. Cannot get a beer, food not too clever, harsh sounding languages, ugly people, getting mithered, folk staring at you. Quote
