I'll give them that. But then it seems people now want to vote for any party led with someone they can go for a drink with, makes them laugh or irritates someone they've never met but for some reason don't like them.

The West has turned into a place of boring blowhards with the toughness of tracing paper. Learnt their parents stories of heroism in the face of facism, somehow started to believe they were their own, enjoyed the huge benefits of the post war agreement, from free education to the NHS to cheap housing and then decided to tear it up before they shuffled off this mortal coil.

They did make some good music though to be fair.

Enough about our Australian fruitcake

Its 2.2 billion in export deals and 2.3 billion in market access.

My understanding is that those are deals in principle rather signed sealed and delivered - which is where the £600 million is from.

Happy if that's incorrect of course!

Still in any event. Booooooooo!

As are all international trade deals. Its not like quoting for an extension to be fair.

As I say, this is a good thing for the UK. Those trying to be semantic genrally have another axe to grind.

Hush now, don't you know he was headhunted. Best of the British best.

The seven new Labubu shops will certainly be a boon

Farage is named in the Epstein files 41 times (so far). Steve Bannon bragged to Epstein that he controls him, and that Brexit was "just the beginning" of the collapse of Democracy he desires. You'll conveniently ignore this though.

You’re not comparing apples with apples here though are you. Mandelson had what appears to be a close relationship with Epstein and leaked extremely sensitive information to him.

From what I’ve read Bannon is just blowing his own trumpet talking about how close he is to a number of right wing politicians throughout Europe (Farage included). Farage had no link to Epstein.

Neither are good.

I am a New Labour Blarite to the core but this insider one rule for one is disgusting - Mandelson has always been dodgy. When my ex was a grade A CS - the amount that was brushed away was hair curling.

Meanwhile, over in the next party to lead the country, they can’t even organise 8 MPs at voting time.

Imagine what’ll happen when they have 300 to wrangle.

I can’t wait for it to begin:

Did this ever happen (re Chinese investment)?

https://www.theguardian.com/business/2013/oct/14/china-invest-manchester-airport-city

Chinese investors will pump millions of pounds into the £800m development of Manchester's Airport City which is hoped will strengthen business links between Britain and the world's second largest economy.

Beijing Construction Engineering Group (BCEG) has agreed a joint venture with Manchester Airports Group (MAG), UK construction group Carillion, and the Greater Manchester Pension Fund on the development which is expected to create around 16,000 new jobs and attract international businesses.

I thought the visionaries would be super pleased with today's announcements.

Absolutely. Your mate Mandy gone from the Lords; criminal investigation under way; Starmers judgement finally under the microscope - all in all yes. A good day for announcements.

No, the West has turned into a place where people are afraid to speak their mind thanks to the likes of 'your party' being led by the nose by US wokes.

The equal and opposite reaction was always going to come. You are only seeing the first shoots of it so far.

Stand by.

Aye. Might have been my ability to spell eh?

'Fruitcake'. From him

Ginger cake.

Hogwash. I grant you there is an equal and opposite reaction happening now though. Thankfully. People are getting repulsed by the temporary blip in society where malign agitators were encouraging folks that it was ok to be offensive towards minorities, to blame them for problems caused in reality by others. Reform have peaked in the polls.  The leaders have been sussed out as hollow self-serving elites, tinpot Trump’s focused on lining their own pockets not serving the country. Can you not see this? Sad.

Reform's policy is also to remove the 2 child benefit cap, but with some caveats- it won't apply to everyone.

I've not followed this debate, and the exact nature of the legislation, but it seems communication wasn't the best!

Imagine when there’s 300 of them all stumbling around the voting lobbies, baffled to fuck and trying to contact Farage to ask whether they should be voting to deploy sharks in the channel or not.

Seems to be plenty of folk "speaking their minds" these days.

Usually saying the exact things they claim they're not allowed to say anymore.

Pity no other party is offering a credible alternative. When Reform and the Greens are the ones doing well in the polls you realise what a mess successive Govts have made/are making.

Cloud cuckoo land.

The essence of what brought us here.

Do nothing now, and the eventuality is far more bleak.

Simply ignoring the clear major issues won't make them go away.

Layer total economic incompetence on top and folk are in despair.

Why on earth would you appoint Mandelson in the first place if you knew he had ANY links whatsoever with Epstein. What a knob.

Agree that recent Tory/Labour governments have failed to deliver on what’s important to folks and/or people have felt they haven’t delivered.

Disagree that populist/authoritarian parties offer any solution to these problems. Hollow promises by pseudo politicians who are themselves taking money from dubious/billionaire sources. Can’t believe the irony is lost on folk that Farage et al claim to be “of the people” and yet they are in the pockets themselves of the rich elites.

No easy answers all things considered, but for now Labour seem to be getting some positive stuff done despite all the headwinds.

Bad day for Sir Keir this.

Suspect it may cost him his job.

Mandelson was clearly damaged goods and he should have known better. Yes, the peado cunt lied to Starmer when discussing the job, but it was daft to go near him at all.

Shame, as he’s got some dull, necessary work done, but I’d expect this of Johnson/Truss types, not Starmer.

i think he’ll go for this
