Ragebaiting in UK is one thing. Not sure it's wise for GB news to do the same over the pond :S

The next meeting between the PM and Pat McFadden might be a bit awkward

Makerfield’s reform candidate seems a little confused about, well, everything.

Thicker than a school custard.

The "quality" of candidates and mps varies hugely, no doubt about that.

Some of them are incredible intellects, with a deep understanding of law.

Others have experience of a particular field, but may not be "academic".

Some simply want to work for their constituents, and don't have a great desire to go any further- and may not have the ability to do so.

Others simply have a desire to use whatever means they have to climb the greasy pole and ascend to the top.

Soooo out of his depth. Toe curlingly embarrassing. Do we really want parliament full of folk of this level of knowledge and intelligence (of any political persuasion). Deary me.

Like how Farage turned up to watch

"listen, don't worry about the questions, just brush them off, the main thing is to get behind the bar and pull a pint, show the public you are one of them"

Surely Reform will pull him from that, he'll get pulled to pieces. Not because he's Reform, but because he's absolutely thick as fuck, and any other panelist, with even half an ounce of intelligence, knows he'll fuck up

Of course he shouldn’t be anywhere near parliament then again we’ve  had people like Abbott who was out campaigning with 2 different left shoes on and she’s been around Parliament for decades. Let’s face it the bar isn’t high.

yep, she must have something about her, but she does come across as fucking gormless

He’s a plant. Vote Burnham, get Starmer out.😊

I said at the start of this pantomime that Reform needed to find a squeaky clean candidate because of the scrutiny. I doubt any other candidate in a by-election has come under this much. I think trawling through his social media for the last 10 years is a bit low but that’s modern politics. I hope no one on here is thinking of it.😉

I agree

Although, even without going through his past, he doesn't come across very well at all. I think if Reform were serious about winning this seat (and I'm not sure they are) they would have put a far higher caliber individual in the running, in order to give Labour a bloody nose.

It may suit them to have Burnham win, and then further destabilize Labour by running for the leadership.

Im guessing he’s better educated than Angela Rayner and a typical ‘working class’ lad. Something the Labour Party are always lauding. He ain’t a politician though, he ain’t got the ‘gift of the gab’ so I expect he will lose.

The fact he deleted his accounts to avoid more scrutiny is a good indicator he was not squeaky clean.

A couple of things here, if this is the guy they selected after vetting what were the ones they rejected like ? He was asked in another interview with the MEN about Reform policies and just did not know what they were. In that interview he is asked about Russia invading Ukraine and says he is against the annexation of Crimea.

Secondly what is Reforms view of what a normal ‘working class’ bloke is like. It seems very low. It is hard enough to define what ‘working class’ even means these days.

If they let him go on the show, he gets destroyed and Reform's credibility takes a knock.
If they pull him, they lose face their credibility takes a knock.

Win, win.
But I hope he's on QT, could be entertaining.

Indeed, people try to use it as some sort of badge of honour, I know that Starmer appears to,

The reality is that there is almost no such thing these days

Does that mean that people think they're all doing badly.......(clearly some much worse than others, but everybody as a minus doesn't look terrific for our politics does it)

Kemi Badenoch doesn’t really need to speak in public more than once a month and she’ll do ok. In that respect, keeping her head down is proving very effective.

Sniping from the sidelines and criticising everyone clearly has merit. 🙃
