am on vodafone and been no issues in Greece or Spain

So it wasn't the roaming charges but the 500 day holiday that was the issue

Pretty much every network provider will send a text when you land in another country informing the customer off the charges.

vodafone tried to sell us our uk allowances transferred to greece for a quid a day
