What's needed is whole estates building on on industrial land along with new schools, etc included. Rather than 8 house here and there.

problem is successive governments have had no interest in funding them. Imagine if all the money spaffed on crooked COVID contracts went to improving the national infrastructure.

So whole estates of affordable housing, is that what you’re saying?

No proper council/social housing estates coz 'affordable housing' is a bullshit term as they're not fucking affordable at all

Can they not just extend the school like they do elsewhere?

No, because it's the old school playing fields that they're building on 🙂

A local school about 5 miles away is expanding though, as are a few in Biggleswade, so they'll get in somewhere, just not in the village that they live in

Weren’t there only about 20 people on there anyway?

Heres a thought.

Process them.

Either sort them some digs and a hand getting a job, or send them back.

I reckon it could be done in an afternoon.

I'd agree with that, there must be plenty of "brownfield" sites up and down the country they could/should be building on

I can only assume the government are deliberately dragging their heels, can't think why? 🤔

There are but there is a catch, they cost a fuck load to make them suitable/safe for housing. It just needs the will to do it. I dread to thing how many could be freed up with the dodgy PPE money, Rwanda bollocks, etc. Chuck HS2 in there too for what it's worth.

Piss up in a brewery anyone?

If it's true, then that is absolutely amazing

As an aside, a mate of mine is currently in hospital with Legionnaires disease, apparently they were close to putting him into an induced coma last week, he's thankfully on the mend at the minute, so his mum tells us. We're not even allowed to go and see him, as he's so poorly. Fuck knows where or how he contracted that.

I agree,  they just have to "want" to do it, at present, it seems they don't want to, and would rather the situation got much, much worse

Building on industrial land comes with huge costs to remove whatever contamination or pollutants that where there

Buckshaw Village is one such example, biggest new housing estate in Europe, theyve now progressed further into Euxton, farmers fields now turned into new housing estates, its a shit show, the area has suffered, roads clogged, no dentist or doctors available, new school altready chocker and extended and is a much worse place to live.

Brownfield doesn't mean industrial, just previously developed so it could be a car park

Same way green belt doesn't mean loads of fields and trees

I don't think Buckshaw was well planned out tbh. However it is popular, not for me though. Have to say, went with the lad to their medical centre a few months back for his covid jab and was impressed with the place.

No but most of those that are easy have already been built on. Though I wonder how many sites have planning but haven't been touched?

Who’s RW going to blame for this bacteria then? We’ve been through all the countries firefighters, lawyers & charity workers… let’s see.

I’m sure they will have it all sorted & safe again soon anyhow. Just an absolute shit show really. Hopefully nobody shows any symptoms 🤞

Previously developed covers a huge range of stuff, it can be buildings but also include something as mundane as a car park

There's loads of permissions out there to build houses but for some reason house builders don't always seem that keen to get on with it

You usually get three years to make a start on a permission before it lapses, so just dig some foundations or put an access road in. Then your permission stays in place for pretty much ever, leave it for years and come back

It'll be the Albanians or the farmers.  Maybe Albanian farmers.

RAF Henlow near me, is listed to "close" and the land be converted into housing (780 new homes) - this was discussed in 2016, with closure in 2020, and then building to commence pretty soon after. Of course, absolutely fuck all has happened, and as far as i can tell when I drive past it, there is a very minimal amount of RAF personnel there these days and little or no traffic coming or going, so I'm not sure how active a base it still is.

It's perfect for development, I'd have thought, but there appears to be fuck all happening
