I'm not one for visiting graves, but thanks for the invite. Would be happy to buy you a pint if I'm in the area though. 👍

Yes, I remember our private chat re your mum and his mum. Will be down on the 18th or 19th as I'm away after that. Is that decent chippy across the road from the church still open, enjoyed them on our last visit

Haven't been round there for a few years. In fact, the last time I was there was when I dropped my mum off to go to Paul's mums funeral when Covid was still a thing. The Cross Chippy is still open according to google, if that's the one you're talking about?

That sounds like the one, we all parked on the car park across from the church and the chippy was close to the memorial 👍

Everyone has an opinion I guess.

It was an anti austerity march in London. Are we now in an austerity cycle. Again.?

Some think so. Having seen our debt more than double over the last 17 years means we have far less to spend on what we need to.

What do you think?

Yep

Diane Abbott is a complete fucking thruster.

When you have a majority in the hundreds, it’s inevitable that some are going to be a right sack of shit.

As for the debt, well that’s been building for almost 2 decades.

Well yes. Graph coming.👍

When interest rates were low, the debt was manageable. Covid and the war in  Ukraine changed things as can be seen on the graph. Ms. Reeves problem is too much borrowing at high interest rates (see guilt yields) it’s unsustainable for the plans she has. Something will have to give. Either public spending cuts or tax rises.
Both politically sensitive.

That's a scary graph! Something needs to give one way or another.....

Unless we suddenly find some terribly scarce resource knocking around!

For info. when I say higher interest rates due to bond yields. This is another graph showing the increase since October last year. Not sure what happened then. 😉
