Yeah I agree, that would be a logical starting point. I imagine lads on scooters with face coverings are doing a lot more harm. But strangely, Reform lady didn't seem to concerned about them?

Without going back through this thread, I think I’m the only one who has mentioned the women’s right to wear or not wear them. Does anyone else care about these things? Talking it over with my wife and that’s the first thing she said. I guess a forum that is 99% men wouldn’t think of these things.

No - I mentioned it a few posts back. I don't think the state should be telling people what they can and can't wear.

You can’t wear helmets in certain shops and banks but are allowed to wear Burkas. Go figure 

There's nothing in the Quran that says they have to wear them either.

I imagine that's because there was a spate of people holding up banks and then making a getaway on a motorbike. And that a helmet is basically armour 😁

it's backwards, oppresive and stone age, imo, but that's religion for you

it's banned in many places, and I get it, it's a way of saying, we don't do this here, and this is how you integrate into the west, in the same way we'd have to respect cultures if we moved to a muslim culture

so I've no issue if it is banned

the only thing I question is why reform have brought it up, and i don't think it's coming from a place of integration, equaity or fighting the oppression of woman
