And a delightful statistic is that 19% of NHS staff are non-British. Send them back though eh?

No

Immigration is fine if it’s people who add value.

You really don’t get nuance do you?

I’ve just spent 5 days in hospital and can only assume the cost will have run into the many thousands.

The treatment I received was world class and the only expenditure was a bottle of water from a vending machine.

The staff were excellent.

I’d hate to be without the NHS

Are you out and about now mate? Glad to hear you felt well looked after. Did you have your op in Bolton?

The irony. Are White British people who don't "add value" an issue for you? Because there's SHITLOADS more of them than there are immigrants.

😩

Doesn’t really answer my question relating to the UK and other countries. Predictably, the USA is mentioned. There are many other countries. I’d suggest the size of the NHS as an employer is not what most would call ‘efficient’. That was the crux of Bolty’s post I think.

Correct

We have enough problems with adding more into the mix. Especially ones with religious bollocks going on.

Aye back home. Was in Preston hospital because I live in Lancashire and I had to check the Muslim/non-muslim ratio first 😜

Cant fault the process. Spoke to some folk on the ward who’d had mixed experiences but the staff really are the jewels in the crown.

There's no doubt it's somewhat bloated, and far from efficient, and it needs streamlining, I'd still want it kept in some form, not completely "fucked off" as Bolty wants though. I'd always want at least a basic level of free at point of use emergency care and necessary procedures. What I'm not sure I agree with is, procedures done for vanity reasons. I know of two recent operations, one for a girl to have her ears pinned back, and another girl to have a gastric band fitted.....both on the NHS, they should be done privately.

It's only a matter of time until bits of it do start to be sold off anyway (IMO), if Reform win the next GE, I suspect they'll speed that process up. Depending how it's handled, that may or may not be a bad thing

I know people in other countries who have different systems to ours and never complain about their health system. Whoever gets in next time need to reform (small r) our whole social and health systems, including pensions. Maybe this lot will in the next 4 years. Personally, not surprisingly, I doubt it.
You can all bookmark this and throw it back at me and I’ll be happier than the lot of you.😊😉

Yeah well - I asked it whether developed countries with universal healthcare are more efficient in terms of staffing than developed countries without universal healthcare.

Aye, seems a lot have taken to standing outside hotels and marching in large groups with flags.. weather that be Palestine,  Israel ,Union Jack or any pride ones.

Wish I had that much time on my hands

You're absolutely right here

It's a pisstake that having a gastric band fitted is available on the NHS

Just go for a fucking jog

The fat knacker is also already talking about how she'll need further surgery to remove the excess skin. She currently lost about 8st since she had it fitted in January/February. That'll cost another load of money. She should have just been put down the fat, greedy cunt

How much would ongoing co-morbidities cost to treat though?

At least this way, weight is lost.

They can't jog once they've got fucking massive.

Maybe doctors, society etc have to be more forceful in dealing with excess weight before it gets so serious.

One of the all time greats ♥️

I will point this out one more time , at the moment its costing me just over $1700 a month for my insurance here (thats just medical) can anyone on here afford that, luckily the company pays $1550 a month ( those that have there own company can you afford $1550 per employee per month) , and thats not the end of it there's  $40 Co-pay fee if you see the doctor, have blood work done that's another fee, get medication and that's another fee. And all the time you have one eye on the insurance company because they may say no to anything at anytime, getting to see a Doc is better then the UK but only by a small amount. At least in the UK with the NHS if your are seriously ill they will fix up no cost, the same here but it could bankrupt you with all the shit the insurance will not pay for.

Sorry forgot about your deducible ( it can $2000, $5000 or $10000) which means until you have paid those amounts it costs you, once you have then they pay for it  ( you pay some every time you go to the Doc or have something done, I never figured out the decide but they do) and the higher the deducible the less you pay per month , Im at $5000

As I mentioned it I’ll reply. I specifically said to not compare with the USA.
How about every other country in Europe? Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Switzerland? etc. etc.

Hits a point where you think "fook let's sort this".

Im 21 stone, been for a run every day since 18th July.. hurts and I'm aching but I feel healthier for it.

People are now jumping on gastric bands and med express as xn easy option.

The girl in talking about, who had had the weight loss surgery, she eventually decided to do something, when she collapsed with respiratory problems, had to get an ambulance and was in hospital for several days. She should have been left to die.

Obviously being the size she was, she hadn't worked for years, so was also on benefits. She didn't become circa 30 stone overnight. It was all self inflicted, and now the NHS is covering how ever much it costs to try and fix her. It's a disgrace

It is a disgrace.

Hence my comments about GPs getting on top of them sooner- backed by more stringent treatment mechanisms.

Compulsory fitness/exercise regimes- turn up or have benefits cut/income tax increases etc.

Same with cooking and food planning.

Society has changed too where it is inappropriate to call folk fat, and it's become more acceptable- even if the majority of folk inwardly think "fat twat".

As Billy Connoly put it... eat less and move more

There wasn't any need for weight loss drugs at Belsen

Folk need to rake responsibility for their bodies rather than looking for quick-fix pills... I'm sick of hearing *it's not my fault, it's my genes" and such shite
