Zulu has had a bit of a nightmare here but seems happy enough that Cheese is paying for his drinks.

I do not get a state pension even though i have retired. I have paid my own pension working from 16-60

All i said when i came into this politics debate was the next generation ie those now in their50s will be the last generation to receive a state pension.......The government and both the Tories and Reform are rightly pushing for personal pensions, but also talking about means testing.

Some on here are living in a utopia world and cannot see what is coming financially.

They rather tell me i am a loser, thick, and have anger issues when they could do worse than listen to what i say.

Never had anything given to you? Your generation were able to buy property on 3x an average salary. Today it's nearer 9x. You had the state building houses left right and centre, while today, the only properties being built are skyscrapers for Russian and Saudi nationals to "invest in" and never visit. Your generation were able to buy their council houses for a song, and sell them at ballooned profit. 

Your generation enjoyed free higher education, while today the average student debt is around £50k. You might say, "I didn't need a degree, I went to the University of Life". Yep, because with unionised workforces actually manufacturing things in this country before Thatcher's axe, your generation enjoyed good jobs, for life, just by scraping a couple of O Levels. Today, any job paying above pot washing or glass collecting (and having done both, I am not knocking either) expects further qualifications to even get past the first sift.

I wouldn't dispute that you have worked hard for what you have, but your suggestion that those younger than you have a "sheltered life" is plain fucking ignorant. The ability to check your own privilege is seemingly a concept beyond so many of your age group. With such a closed world view, I'm really not surprised you and so many myopic others within your privileged, selfish generation are falling for Farage's lies.

Here is where me and you differ. I see all aspects of life and lifes struggles/benefits as one generation replaces another.

You are still fixed on your generation only and have been weighed down with that chip on your shoulder for way too long.

I was earning under £4 quid a hour when i bought my house. I was brought up in a council house that had rotten windows and the only heating was once the fire was lit. Yet my dad always told we had it easy compared with him

And certainly i had it easier than my grand dad who never lived to see out his 40s

What is this higher education you speak of?? I left school at 15 had my birthday that week-end and started work two days later. Higher Education was day release if you had a apprenticeship.....I have no O levels School learnt me nothing after age 11.

I don’t know if you go on Twitter, but a lot of reform supporting accounts actually think we should reset the country to those times you talk about.

They think Britain was better then because we struggled but just maintained that blitz spirit. Whilst our grandparents died in their 40’s and we all had blue skin on winter mornings.

What the more honest Twitter accounts mention are the lack of brown faces.

Never ever play that card with me. I worked with some of those brown faces that used to put into the economy.

Immigration played a big part in helping this country off its knees in the 50s and 60s. I would take a 100 Indian Doctors, Nurses from the Caribbean than a 1000 Brittish whites who never put a bean into the economy.

Those days will never return but the times of one Generation having it better than the last are now over. This country is in decline

I was discussing how Twitter in particular is shaping the narrative and has been the single biggest boost to reforms popularity. There are reform accounts that cater to all their base.

BadEnoch seems to be getting cut a lot of slack amidst Labour's capitulation.  Council elections for the main opposition, particularly 2 years after a GE, usually see strong support yet they've currently lost just short of 600 seats.

I have never ever been either a snowflake or put my x against a Reform vote.

I can see why people are turning to them though. Having lived in houses that have and had not got double glazing on that i agree [not sure why you put that in there]

It is because it simply is making the country dangerous and Bankrupt.
