dunno, think the players going on strike was pretty public

as was Heathcotes winding up order

plus the other winding up orders

In none of the examples have the 'wronged party' actively used the media to make their point in the way the FGR chairman has.

the players used the Bolton News to issue a statement!

A statement issued from the squad via The Bolton News this evening states players have taken a stand over what they feel is “totally unacceptable” treatment from the club.

I'd say that's an example of the wronged party actively using the media to make their point

KA has acted like the ruthless/snake business man he is.

The only thing different here to any other deal he has ever done is that the other party have kicked off in such a public way.

in one!

I’m warming to the “try before you buy” methodology.

i will never lose sleep over a football club being slightly immoral, as I doubt any of the big boys do.

Fuck em. I like it when other clubs hate us.

I think most people are of the thinking that we shouldn’t have bought him in the first place given the cash flow problem

We’d rather live within our means and not risk going down an administration/ liquidation road rather than chance it on a player

19 of 24 championship clubs make a loss. hence they can not live within their means.

as i said previously, if we had higher crowds, we have more money, and we pay bills.

and ive also said, you can not blame fans for not showing because we are really shit.

so the club gamble on buying players, in an attempt to raise results and therefore attendance and revenues.

surely you can see this??

if he was on 10 goals and we were 8th in the league no fcuker, not one, would be saying that

‘In the same way’. He is on SKY and national press.

correct. and i also believe we would have found the cash, and somebody else would have been moaning about not being paid.

or if we were in playoff position, we could possibly have higher gates, and cash to keep the books balanced, and we would even be in this position.

So on reflection, this “protest”

what the fuck is it going to achieve? What message are we wanting to deliver?

To my eyes recent club protests have been held trying to force an owner out who doesn’t wanna go anywhere ( Hull springs to mind)

we’re in a position where we’re trying to deliver a message the fella already knows. He knows he’s wanted out. HE wants out and told everyone he wants out.

Wouldnt surprise me if Ken was spotted throwing fucking tennis balls himself.

Have to laugh at how tinpot this whole situation is. As long as the team is there to go and watch every Saturday I really couldn’t give a fuck what goes on Mon - Friday anymore

we as fans are in control of non of it except supporting the lads on the green stuff. However shit they are and wherever that may be

SKY reported on the strike once it became public, as did other media outlets which only happened because the players actively used the BN to break the story (as it was probably quicker and easier to do it via Iles than SKY)

this FGR guy used Facebook on Sunday to announce what was going on - then interviewed on SKY on Monday, so not sure if he went to SKY or they picked up and went to him, but am sure he was more able to give an interview on TV following his announcement than our players would've been, as I'm sure SKY would love to have interviewd our players about the strike if they could

but , if that's what you specifically meant, that the BN are not the media in the same way Facebook updates, SKY and the national press are the media, then yes, this is different, it's worse

(except for the the bit where SKY and National Press did report our strike once the story broke)

Not defending if it’s true

but folk especially on social media just seem to be blowing smoke up Mr Vinces arse, ok ken didn’t help himself by going quiet but who to say this geezer is telling the truth

We haven't averaged 20,000 at home in the second tier since the 70s. If Ken thought Christian Doidge was going to add 5k to the gates when it's £30 a go to watch bottom of the Championship football, he isn't half as savvy as people make him out to be. He'd have been better off taking the £250k down the casino and sticking it on black, or burning it.

He's tried pushing a smaller club around and been made to look a dick. And the player wasn't worth it, and we've messed him around too. More satisfied customers.

As for Vince going to the press - a player who's started six of our last seven in the league, who we gave a three year deal to, and who they thought they'd sold - rocked up at training for them on Monday. It was hardly going to stay quiet.

One thing that did cross my mind is that with the transfer window open, it suits FGR very well to get their record goal scorer back to help them with their promotion push without having to look elsewhere. Bit of a conspiracy theory but who knows?

Plus they could end up with his wages paid and 250k first payment and they keep him

I think Ken will be the happiest man alive when he gets out of this train wreck, I'm not going to protest because like you I wouldn't know what I was demonstrating against. If say Kevin Davies had a consortium who wanted to buy the club and Ken wasn't playing ball then I could understand the demo, Ken out! Kevin in! But it's Ken out errrr somebody else in. I'll be glad when it's all over and we can get back to the football. Bolton till I die!!!!!!

Of course not but he hasn’t has he, he’s been shite, making the deal a bad one

if Ben Amos turned into the Next Gordon Banks and we had sold him to Real Madrid for £50m then no fucker, not one, would have said that’s was a bad deal either. But he didn’t, it was a shocking deal for the club to sign up to

Ken keeps remind us of all the shite deals that he inherited, well this is one of his own that looks equally as rank

The whole idea of what he was trying to do was to balance the books and live within our means, this deal clearly wasn’t doing that

ok, never invest in the business

thats fine

Doidge isn't Ken's only poor signing either. In his nearly 3 years at the club we havent made money on any of his signings

Of course invest, invest what you have coming in, that’s the idea of living within our means

Ken’s just a hypocrite, done exactly what he has slated the last lot for doing, all be it on a smaller scale

The TwitterM0ngs will say it's all about us "wanting our club back" - although none of them actually know what that actually means -or possibly they hope it will for one and for all make KA sell up to one of the many Billionaires that's lining up to buy us, instead of just fleecing us senseless at every available opportunity. Or something like that

hes borrowed to invest

borrowed against guaranteed funds

totally agree. if ken ever thought we could get 20k, that was a massive misjudgement and certainly setting a rod for his own back.

then folk moaning at him because he keeps pushing tickets is pathetic. he needs fans. which i think is why he is trying to be "transparent" with his updates but even thats backfired on him.

how many permanent signings have we made in his time with us?

of those still here, we could sell most of them for more than we paid

anyway, its a shit point

Perhaps your right and he had planned for the transfer to be paid in this way, I’m not sure

The fact the lads on the M6 heading south with his bags packed suggests it’s not gone the way Ken planned

We made the transfer in September and since then have had nothing but cash flow issues. It’s nit like the issues came up months or years after the transfer. I just can’t comprehend how it was ever meant to stack up financially apart from the lad scoring loads of goals but that was always a huge gamble

We might as well have wasted our time on the kid Hall instead, I bet he’d of got 1 in 17 and we would have saved £500k - £1m in the process

Just seems crazy to me

like i say, we are taking a view based on 1 in 17

prob nearer 1 in 6?

its hard to make a case for any strtiker signing with those stats, but its prob little worse than garner and wyke
