I agree with Mounts in that I think the establishment are pro-actively putting mufflers on all of these cases.  Yes, folk know about it but it surprises me just how little 'outrage' has come from the top down.  Again, if certain roles were reversed . . . we all know how our media works and they generally create the national mood with the printing of a few choice headlines.

 

I can only assume it's because they don't want it to turn into an excuse for racial/religious hatred on our streets, which is rather ironic.

One drama after a case so shocking it should be something everyone reflects on daily to ensure something like that doesn't happen again.

Talk about it in these terms, don't make reference to this that or the other, use the religious/racial element as little as possible and preferably not front page emotive headlines etc - any of those, yeah, I'd bet money on it.

 

Let me ask you a hypothetical - if EDL members were systematically raping, drugging and God knows what else under age Muslim girls up and down the country for well over a decade do you think we'd hear more or less?   Be inclined to be less outraged or more?

Have you read any of this thread ? There is an embargo on reporting the case. So you would not and should not know all about. As Widnes explains the embargo is to make sure the third trial goes ahead and the accused can not plead they can not get a fair trial. So the actions of TR have made that plea more likely.

 

I keep asking why the story could not wait till the legal process was over and no one seems to answer. I assume every single person on this site wants the dirty bastards sent down with maximum penalties. TR actions make that less likely. Do you agree with that ?

I was having a conversation with my wife and parents yesterday and I mentioned Tommy Robinson having been arrested and what he’d done. None of them have even heard of the bloke.

 

I would be confident that if I had the same conversation at work tomorrow over 90% wouldn’t know who I was talking about.

 

Robinson has a huge worldwide following, before being banned from Twitter he had more followers than Teressa May, his videos on Youtube get more viewings than Corronation Street. An online petition to free Tommy Robinson was put on line 2 days ago and has already received 400K signatures. His arrest would be all over the news but the Judge has ordered reporting restrictions until the trials he was covering have been concluded. Donald Trump Junior has tweeted his support for TR as has Rozanne Barr, it;s all over Fox News and it;s being reported as UK journalist imprisoned for covering Pedophile Grooming Gang trial and UK media has been silenced so the story is spreading like wildfire outside the UK. I wouldn't underestimate his influence, there's massive amounts of people around the world who believe every word he says

The Prime minister of Poland is throwing his opinion in too, House of Lords Peer Lord Pearson has officially written to Home Secretary Sajid Javid and informed him that if TR is killed or harmed whilst in prison he will personally fund and pursue a private prosecution against him as an accessory and/or misconduct in public office, Seems to have quite a lot of influential friends Mr Robinson so it's wrong to dismiss his as  ineffective

No doubt Widnes, doesn't change the fact his actions in this instance were wrong and could affect another trial. I assume this is why he has been dealt with a fairly heavy hand, rightly or wrongly.

I absolutely 100% agree, if 29 nonces got off because TR live streamed that that's unforgivable and he deserves to be punished, his 3 months suspended sentence was invoked and a further 10 months was added, which I think was over the top. Especially given the credible threat to his safety in prison. 3 months would have made and example and the third trial would be over before he was released
