Like I said, utter farce

Houses will happen

Ryder cup, not a prayer

Maybe the council put a condition into the the planning application that before any houses are built the golf course must first be in place, that might make them think twice.

Them Tory c*nts won't be happy until this green and pleasant land resembles Hong Kong - apart from where they live...

I read somewhere that less than 5% of the UK is built on. However this ain’t a party politics issue so no idea why your pinning the blame on the Tories, I’d say our green and pleasant land is safer under the Tories than Corbyns shower of shit.

You're like the worst kind of reformed smoker, a socialist gone blue - the tories have removed 'green belt' restrictions...They're building and ruining views and the countryside everywhere - mainly for 'executives' - that's actually happening now, not speculatively under a theoretical Labour gov, and there's not much building going on on shithole brownfield sites.

my mum lives in Over Hulton so will only increase the house price for when its mine

Wow! First time I've seen a Little Whitt post that's spelt right.

You're like an idiot.

You're like an idiot.

It's an often repeated trope, but how would you know (not that I'm an idiot, that's amply evidenced)?

Perhaps you get the gist when you grace us with your presence for about half an hour every so often when you're up at your Spanish bolthole? Or perhaps via your Kodi Box?

I'll continue to take your opinions on Britain with a gritter wagon of salt (snow this afternoon here) - until you move to Spain for six months of the year, then I'll just use one of those yellow bins...

I thought we had a shortage of houses and needed to build millions to meet demand

They can’t all go on brownfield sites

Don't get me wrong, if I was rich as fuck and a c*nt I'd probably like a view from my window or back garden like those afforded by homes being built on previously restricted land - with huge fucking windows...Those views are supposed to be for everyone though.

I did exaggerate about the no building on shithole sites - they've built on Union Road, for example, tiny houses with tiny 'ecological' windows - not that you'd be arsed as your view is of someone on TMR's back gate (if they have one) and flytipped shit.

Up the revolution.

When JC gets in he'll commandeer these green belt 'executive' homes and either share them among the workers, or bulldoze them, and verdant Albion will be restored.

Power to the people.

In fucking one

Everyone’s happy to see more houses built unless it affects where THEY live, and potentially alters their view out of the window or - god forbid - lowers house prices.

“We need more houses, but make sure they’re in northern Scotland or my 3 mile commute to work may take an extra 5 minutes and that isn’t fair and will make my life a living fucking hell”

We need developers to be more imaginative and folk to be less picky, how much dead space is there above retail etc. for example? One of the nicest cities in Europe is Vienna and folk there think nowt about living above a shop...

In Britain people are obsessed with living in some twee replication of what they used to draw at age four - even when they build what are ostensibly blocks of flats, near Lostock Station or over DCL from Park Cakes, for example, they add a little pent roof and other details to make them look 'housey'...

Make Canon Slade move to a new build on the old bus station, all the social climber twats will be clamouring to live above Stef's Tattoos or Marsden House then.

Build social housing on their 'levels' - with stunning vistas of Winter Hill, then give them to anyone fleeing war or persecution or who's been on an anti-fracking demo.

Do we actually need more houses?

Kind of.

There's plenty of empty houses but they're either where no bugger needs them, 2nd houses or in various states of disrepair.

There's 3 or 4 brownfield site's ear marked for housing right by Bolton town centre that will provide the type of housing we need.

Massive luxury houses are what makes money but aren't in as high demand.

We could use some infrastructure to support the houses we have already, but there is no political will to do so, it seems

Canon Slade don't have a fixed area from where they cherry-pick their pupils. They come from pretty much everywhere; Atherton, Tyldesley, Swinton, Pendlebury, Bury, Aspul, etc. So I'm nt really getting the point you make. (Thornleigh is the same; i.e. no "feeder" schools.)

Maybe Turton is the school needing to be moved to put the homes in Bromley Cross down a quid or three.
