Clearly is an issue as these wages are now 11 days late. Poor stuff. I wonder if you could ever get it into the heads of some folk that BWFC has been a limited company since 1895 and that means that players are employees and the financial responsibilty of the company and not employees of the directors or shareholders whoever they might be or however many of them there might be at any point in time. Gravel rash
Is it a reasonable assumption to make that if the takeover continues at the current pace and Sweaty doesn’t cough up the wages as promised (he does have previous here) that we run the risk of a player revolt and fielding kids against Sheff W or cancelling the fixture altogether? I suspect the EFL will call the game off if wages aren't paid as clearly the club is trading whilst insolvent which is illegal.

They have the right to protest, but doing it on a match day may be considered a breach of contractual obligations or simply deriliction of duty. Best bet is to play well, put themselves in the shop window for the 15th when they become free agents (albeit can’t be registered until next season). It depends on how the business is defined as to if playing the match is considered ‘trade’ or not. It’s illegal to accept revenue but it’s not illegal to fulfil obligations previously paid for. Ani
Right a couple of people have said Chris and Howard could have an agenda here to share specific info. ...Out of interest why would anyone want that ? We have no influence on the deal going through so why would anyone give a shit about public opinion ? On the Warburton connection, there are only very limited number of people in the country to have the financial clout to invest £££s in a football club, it is is likely that these people move in similar circles so the chance of some over-lap is a lot higher than you might expect. Ultimately Colin and Howard are expressing informed opinions as are others, they may have relevant knowledge which boosts the credibility of their opinions, but anyone applying standard business logic to buying a football club will nearly always come up the conclusion you should not do it, but people do, so until we actually know the outcome everyone is guessing. Ani
Winning Saturday has given us our first bit of positive momentum for a few weeks, getting the wages sorted and some progress with the take over would help keep this going. Site Supporter Biggish Dave Posted March 11, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted March 11, 2019 I reckon we need to win this to keep a realistic chance of staying up alive because there's no way we win at Wigan and QPR. Presumably the accounts are frozen and as such the batch deposit system will be too, that means manual placement via either the hotel, inner circle or a 3rd party payroll provider, that creates a time delay. Howardroark
The situation with the wages is that to pay them, KA needs to loan the club money, either via director loan or inter company loan from Inner Circle. If he was convinced Basran was going to complete then he would have paid by now because he would’ve been guaranteed to be repaid as outgoing directors loans have to be settled. Presumably Basran knew in early Feb that they were likely to be paying the wages for that month, they must have factored that in to their projections.... the issue is lack of funds available and KA doesn’t fully trust that they can/will complete.
