There was so many simple equations I had to learn at university and I couldn’t understand then the prof said to me the way you’re working things out is so complicated and long winded. He Basically retaught me complex mates in such a simple way. The one I use all the time is calculating a percentage 

Divide both numbers by ten and multiply the results
