Pretty sure the black fella they took off late on was the one training with us early season

The number 16?  Had decent game.

Don't know his number

Just saw his name on the screen as he was subbed

We offered him 600 a week

Plymouth's players are/were no better than ours are, they just seemed to want it more.

The likelihood is that we're going down, so a Cup run would have been a nice boost for a club & fans that have had pretty much jack shit to crow about of late, never mind the added revenue a cup run brings.

I'm now at the point of being sick of being told that I should be grateful that I've even got a club to support : yeah, I got that message a long time ago.

As for an off day, we all have the, but there seemed to a collective lack of shit given yesterday, even Hill went against what he'd said the week before. He hauled a lad off after 30 mins, he subbed a sub etc etc, but was "content" to let yesterday's starting XI play a full hour? Strange.

PS Save the "you should be grateful" line for the thousands of season ticket holders who couldn't even be arsed with parting with a tenner yesterday.

That's also fair traf.

Injuries are one thing, but if folk think they could have applied themselves better, then that's something else.

Injuries?

We made one change from the week before.

Oh, and that's another thing. You can't play the same line-up bar one player if the missing player is a wideman being replaced by another central midfielder. There was no balance to the side yesterday, Chicksen had no man in front and therefore no help/cover.

You know the situation with injuries. Were not blessed with decent creative replacements.

The one change, had me concerned when I saw the team sheet. No natural width, dribbling skills nor killer passing.

I'm sure hill can see the issue, not sure how much he can do to change it in terms of personnel.

I think we're doing Plymouth a disservice saying we had an off day. I thought they played well, pressing & pressuring enough to not give us enough time on the ball.

Maybe it was a combination of both.

We move on.

Spot on. They did their homework, had a plan and executed it well. We struggled as a result. Hope no reps from our upcoming League 1 opponents were watching

It’s amazing that every injury we get is long term, Hobbs, Buckley, Crawford, Bridcutt, our luck is definitely out, perhaps a new fitness and conditioning bod will also bring better luck with him/her.

Third highest attendance in the round, after Ipswich and Sunderland.

Especially first half although after all the substitutions second half all ended up playing that side of the pitch Politic/Hall/ Earl(obviously)

There seemed a worrying lack of comittment down the other flank as well second half with Dodoo & our rightback passing it one yard to each other rarther than trying to take the defenders on & winning free kicks etc both these players have it in their locker to do that.Infuriating really.Plus Lowe had his worst game of the season he regressed to Parkymode.

2nd round draw at 1900 tonight could have a big indication on whether our game at Blackpool goes ahead just after New Year or if we're looking at yet another midweek rearrangement.

First out of the hat. Maidstone at home so you’d expect them to win that.

Still, opens up the possibility of sneaking in Burton or lincoln

Hope that's something they look at if the teams are available.

Just flicked over to BT, sending Portsmouth to Harrogate on a Monday night fucking hell. Might not even get played yet, weather looks horrendous.

*KO delayed till 2045, Jesus.

Shouldn't be allowed to switch such games.

I really think the 1st 2 rounds of the FA Cup should be regionalised, and I'm not 1 for messing with tradition.  But with clubs so strapped for cash the cup can make bleed finances even more.  Blackpool v Maidstone, Sunderland v Gillingham (and replay), Harrogate v Pompey, Crawley v Fleetwood, Kingsonian v Fylde, Forest Green v Carlisle, Yeovil v Hartlepool (postponed), rearranged to fight to  go to Cambridge or Exeter.  Unnecessary costly and lengthy trips/hotel stays for fans and clubs, in the middle of winter.  And spoils the cup because of the disappointment such draws bring to the fans of all the clubs involved, not exactly adding to the atmosphere or matchday experience. Course the 3rd round onwards should be national as everyone should have a chance of playing any of the big clubs, but absolutely pointless getting Plymouth to come up here when they could be playing Pompey while we're at Harrogate or Port Vale.

I've said the same before about regionalisation.

In fact, I think League 1 & 2 should also be regionalised.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but that is how it was up to 1998.

As the Conference/National League had been introduced in 1979 it seemed logical that the FA Cup went national from the first round proper. Someone had an Axa to grind.

Before exemption to the third round came in (1925) it was fully national in the whole competition proper, although in the very early years the cup was regionalised.

26 years is a long time to wait. I blame the FA.
