Where are you Saturday for our biggest game of the season again? #missuswon’tlethimgo

  • Agreed with that. Even if he only lasts 60, the threat Verlinden provides going forward will be vital to hopefully put us in front and keep the moaners onside. Can't imagine it will be a pleasant

Someday someone is going to get a right tonking off us. Hope it's Saturday.

It may just be my boiled down, we are still here, a fekkin’ win before crimbo, 3 goals, first two well executed and three points, and some decent build up play post 30 mins (late taking my seat) but I left yesterday chuffed as did my lads.

On to Boxing Day and I will take, as others post, a scabby win. Keep The Faith.

Didn’t he also sign 2 year contract for Oldham we offered 1 and that’s why he went to Oldham.

We had offered a contract but still hadn't sorted out whether there would be a club to pay him said contract.

Apparently he wanted to stay on the terms offered but couldn't hang on any longer so took the offer from Oldham.

Another one goal win will please me enormously. We just need to fight and scratch our way to a position where the possibility of saving ourselves from relegation exists.

Players, fans etc. will get the bit between their teeth and it will be an exciting end to the season - one where we thought we could have gone to way of Bury.

Staying in League One will be like winning the division after what we have had to overcome.

Agree staying up would be an unbelievable achievement

however the efl won’t want us to stay up & will make sure we don’t

The rate they do things, I'm not so sure. Yet to sort their appeal, and then, if we get hit hard, presumably we will then appeal.

The nightmare scenario is relegation on goal difference after reaching level points with Accy.

I think a vast majority of the footballing world will want us relegated and the Macclesfield scenario hasn’t helped

there will be uproar if we stay up

Id expect a decision shortly in the new year on this appeal bollocks

We are giving folk their money back, aimiable as owt,  and yet some still want to screw us to the wall.

I still say digging up old shit on others, should be an option locked and loaded to be deployed when ready. like a can of worms .

the more i think back , the calling off of the doncaster game was part of it. dunno how , but it were only about a week later and we'd finally bin took over a couple of days into a two week deadline. seemed to focus everyone.

fuck knows what they'll all do if we stay up by miles.

Not if the question is "Do you want Wheater to play for us next season?"

But I'd like to think we could find better between now and next August, than a knackered 33.5 yr old.

Some interesting bits from Wheater in that podcast with Iles today, Coyles table tennis, Lennon's love of Fanny's, Madines "sorting out" of a bouncer.

I love the bloke but no, I'd rather us be looking elsewhere for a centre back next season. I've no alternative names, but it's not my job to know who's decent, available and fit.

But we want centre backs who can put their nut on a ball from a cross or a corner at both ends, and at the moment we don't have any.

We don't need Wheater back like you say, but I would have preferred him to stay this season, his experience and him being able to out and out defender would have benefited us.

This season a different story yes, but next season and another year on not so much.

Having said that, watch him sign back on next season now
