Beevers & Wheater would make so much difference to this team & most wanted shut.

I dont know anyone that wanted Wheater out, a true defender and capable of the odd goal (cant imagine any of our current defenders scoring).  Of all the departures this summer, his was the most needless, fair enough if players have gone to more stable clubs or better teams, but Wheater's situation looks worse at Oldham.  Would love to get him back for next season.

That was a different player, the left footer, no idea who it was, had a great touch but didnt hurt us much.  These teams turn up to play us and I've never heard of any of the players on the team sheet and I dont recognise any of them.

If these decisions to play a CM at CB and play a obvious ST out wide to accommodate others were made by Coyle, Megson,Freedman Parkinson there would be uproar.

We got away with it big time yesterday. We won’t next week although at Sunderland we might as Parkinson’s as bonkers as KH 😂

in all seriousness I’m made up win a win at Christmas but there’s a lot of questionable things happening selection wise and that cannot be put down to us having no pre season etc

Fair few slagging Wheater off on here blaming him for not being paid sorry for striking. He wouls run thru a brick wall for us and would have been useful i reckon for us this season but moved on now

Good point on politic.  Like Verlinden, he clearly has something that not a lot of players have, skill and composure.  He was arguably our best player in the first few games with the youth, playing centre mid or behind the striker.  When he has come on as sub recently he's looked lost out of position, he's not a winger.  Darcy looks a decent prospect but not as much as Politic did, he needs to be given some chances in that position before he drifts away and leaves on a free.

Take out the "3-2" bit and its just as accurate.

If Hill lost Chicksen through illness and Zouma with a late injury (gmr thought zouma was playing) then I can see why he went with the line up he did.

Baring any changes in the injury front, I'd drop Lowe for sunlun bring in Chicksen and move Bridcutt back to midfield and earl to CB.

Chicksen and Verlinden, and Emanuel and Dodoo have built up good understanding together so I makes sense to play them.

He's moved on "for now" but cant imagine his contract is beyond the current season.  Hill has to find a decent centre back who wants to play in Div 2 next season, he'll do well to find better.  And yes, blaming him for not being paid hits the nail on the head.  So our competitors in Div 2 can sign who they want next season but we are restricted to anyone that hasnt had the misfortune to be contracted to Bolton last season or Macclesfield this season.

Murphy improved after his goal yesterday, but I'd prefer lowe and Bridcutt away. Darcy playing further forward.

I actually thing Murphy might be better being the attacking midfielder, he looks to have a goal in him, but generally he seems too passive, ball watching and devoid of a tackle.

Lowe gives the ball away too often for me especially yesterday lost count of his 'passes' that went straight to a yellow shirt.

Agree entirely, barely got a forward pass in him. When he played alongside Bridcutt, he did so further forward breaking things up, winning it back earlier, essentially defending further up.

Away from home, with a potential aerial game to face, I reckon him being more of a battler than Murphy will be beneficial.

Injuries and Keith's bingo machine may see unexpected changes anyway.

I thought Edwards and Zouma played well together at Wycombe. They know each other's game well from the u-23s.

Zouma done alright for me. Subject to a rush of blood to the head sometimes, but is quite strong physically and will get stronger, and doesn't shirk an aerial battle.

I shouldn't be surprised really though.

If we had De Bruyne and Aguero, with Silva and Jesus in reserve, I think we'd do OK.  It must be hell for Pep trying to set up a game plan.

It doesnt mean he's not liked by most fans.  But in the last 30 years there hasnt been a manager that hasnt take stick for playing players out of position.  Campo at left back.  Kev Davies left wing.  Thorpe, Trotter on the pitch.  Criticism doesnt mean a manager should be replaced, it would be wierd to accept putting your best and shortest midfielder in the back 4.

I know this, and people have a right to give opinions, but for me he got the impossible job this season, and given the blows he has been dealt since then I'd say he is doing well. Certainly better than I expected. And Bridcutt is our best defender or midfielder in my opinion.

Didn’t he also sign 2 year contract for Oldham we offered 1 and that’s why he went to Oldham.
