That was one of the loveliest things to ever happen. Stood in my garden sobbing like a baby! Proud to work for the NHS 👏👏👏👏❤️

We have a flu jab at work and our average age is 32

Having a flu jab at work and being advised by a GP to have one because of a health condition are different things.

More testing then; GPs to be getting involved possibly.

Aye. T'other half gets one from work if she wants it. Economic sense I suppose.

Out of interest, wheres that coming from

Cos they wont be able to do it

Going to be a shit load of people getting ill and having to take 14 days off work

Should be plenty of temporary short term contracts kicking about to tide others over a few months

Nit ideal I know but I think it will be better than 2008 that way

We already use temp agency labour

Main supplier has 230 staff on placements

As of dinner today, 19 isolating

One of ours has phoned in already

says his Mrs has symptoms fair enough

2 weeks without pay though

Im thinking im going to let folk use holidays

This relates specifically to the US, but the talk of potential treatments is at least slightly encouraging:

Just been on BBC news channel. Why can't they do it- many doing fewer appointments so may have some time. Can see ppe being an issue.

Just checked, they are getting less through the door but many many hours of telephone triage

And not forgetting a cough and theyre off

First one has already been on the phone

Non starter, imo

Maybe, but someone's going to have to help with increased testing.

As an aside, lad's school told them that if they developed a cough they would be sent home- classes half empty :)

If I was school and they said that to me the next noise out of my mouth would be cough cough

Mate of mine just text. Her kids go to a school with 351 registered kids. 160 turned up today. Asked me what she should do? I said keep them in school they will benefit from lower class sizes and nothing to say to take them out so carry on.

I went to Bury CofE high and 'officially in charge' was The Rector of Bury who was a daft owd bugger, one winter he took it upon himself to wait up the road from the school and send home any kid who didn't have a coat on. Word got around and kids were stashing coats and getting deliberately sent home. Headmaster must've been going ape shit when he found out. Cock all he could do though other than ask the rector not to do it again.

One lad at mine turned up wearing trainers, he got sent home and then a note went around saying anyone wearing trainers will be sent home. Nearly everyone turned up the next days in trainers.

I had a routine appointment last week, and although the doors had notices not to enter if you had symptoms, the doors were unlocked and anyone could walk in. Only a couple in the waiting room, but I suppose that's not the point.
