I reckon you've answered your own question: if your immune system is knackered stay well clear of unnecessary risk.

I probably have think it's time to sit down with employers and have a chat

It's the best time of year for this to happen to us at work because we're strangely seasonal but we're a small company and if I stay off then even though I can do some work at home I'm relied upon to sort a lot of shit out face to face so it would be far from ideal.

I've no problem keeping the secondary age kids off and also one of the older ones, but the eldest and me are a different matter.

Do you do what's been advised supposedly as being the best for everyone or do you make your own mind up?

Didn't Kent mention the other day they could get results in 2 hours

The test takes 2 hours once it's in the lab. The delay is in getting it to the lab and then having enough qualified lab staff to run the test. It's not a simple one like a pregnancy test for example. They're being developed but not ready yet as I understand it.

MiL has undergone chemo and stem cell. No immune system.  Just been taken in at Royal Oldham. She refused to stay in. I suspect that this ain’t going to turn out well

One step ahead of Pappa Spencer he's waiting for his stem cell treatment. Hopefully the come through both Corona and cancer unscathed

Spoke to my mum today and she's going more stir crazy than he is. Was looking forwards to going to the vets to pick up the dogs stuff just to get out of the house.

I’m in for an operation this Thursday what you reckon the chances of it going ahead?

I wouldn't like to say mate. But if it's elective I'd probably bet against it.

Although strangely the hospital has been on a lower bed capacity alert than it's been for ages. It's often on black (which is one worse than red which is supposed to be the worst).

Suggests most people are usually attending A&E for daft reasons - so maybe there is a chance providing things don't go haywire in the next day or two. A lot will depend on whether they think they can keep you safe from the virus while you're in there.

Hope it goes ok either way mate!

Cheers. As it’s specialist ortho hospital and it should only 1 or 2 night stay in hoping it goes ahead. Thanks for the insight and good wishes. 👍

Oh, we are in a great place

British manufacturers serving the retail market

Great fun at the best of times

Right so how does that work then? The working from home route, it doesn’t so the knock effect is going to be crippling

Great to hear, love UK manufacturers, if you export as well must be booming. 👍

Now you’re just taking the piss.

But I’ll leave it for now as you’ve an operation due and I’ll just wish you all the best mate. 👍

Wouldn’t surprise me if they postpone the stem cell. It’s a bit of a fucker. Made the MiL seriously unwell. Unbelievably good treatment but at a guess it might make him a bit vulnerable? May be wrong? Who knows? Good luck to him. She was diagnosed 10 years ago with a 5 year prognosis so it’s certainly done wonders for her.

They’ve really fucked over the hospitality industry today. By telling people not to go, yet not ordering them to close it means insurers won’t pay out. Loads of angry restaurant owners. Pretty poor. And he dressed up his move to protect insurers as ‘hey we live in a Liberal society’. Fucking nonsense. If it’s as bad as you want people to think it isn’t an issue to order them to shut.
