I did my first ever test at half four this morning, both me and missus have bad colds, test was negative.

On St Anne's beach yesterday. Loads of women with the full burkhas on. Felt sorry for them. I only had a frock on and was sweaty my tattys off. How they fucking cope I don't know.

All the vulnerable in the country are fully vaccinated. 

Nobody at the age of one jab are being hospitalised ffs.

But we’ve done our bit now. We have the miracle vaccine.

Foreign travel restrictions I understand.

But the UK needs fully unlocking as per the plan.

Infections last few days are about 800 a day up on this time last week so about 33%. They did say as we relaxed lockdown they expected it to increase just not sure anyone knows by how they expected it to increase or maybe more relevant what level they expected by now.

Not a popular opinion - but I'd be considering moving it back a couple of weeks too. We need to get the rates down to the point where we can control any localised outbreaks - and we aren't quite there yet. Let's see where we are closer to June 21st. 

We only get one shot at this if we want it to stick.

If folk stopped getting tested there’d be no evidence of any outbreaks.

I do get what you’re saying, but the vaccine completely nullifies it’s threat.

Its something we can live with from now on without fear.

The only worry is a mutation that avoids the vaccine but from what I’ve read (and I’m no scientist), the vaccine can be tweaked to defy mutations now.

I do think we’re in a mindset of unnecessary fear.

The proposed relaxations on 21st are not really major. More inconvenience than economic. Wouldn’t bother me at all. I don’t want to wear a mask for ever but a few more weeks won’t hurt me.

Some places are full of right scutters so a bonus from all this to be able to dampen the smell.

Whilst we’re in step 3 footy is restricted on capacity we need out of this ASAP not carrying on over summer 

There will always be some science to support caution.

As everyone says, we’ll have to learn to live with this.

Currently, there is one aeroplane in the skies above the whole of northern England and Scotland. It’s an Icelandic cargo plane.

Usually in May/June the skies are full of planes ferrying holidaymakers higher and thither.

I know foreign travel is still an arse, but we need to stop running away from Covid. It’s going to absolutely fuck us.

Absolutely we do, and if it means a delay for a couple of weeks until more are vaccinated, so be it. Pubs, restaurants etc are open and we are far from where we were not long ago.

All that said, the media have this incessant desire to inflate the situation and for me, make matters worse.

Focus on the positive stories, encourage folk to get vaccinated etc. Of course numbers will rise a little, and that will have been built into the system, but no need to constantly dig away at the efforts of so many. 

South shore currently resembles Islamabad town centre. Hordes of Asians having B.B.Qs on the sea front.

North and Central is as busy with tourists as your ever likely to see. M6 is gridlocked coming on the M55 and Yeadon way has been a car park for 3 days straight now.

Lytham, St Anne’s and Cleveleys are packed as well.

What possible reason would they have to delay boozers opening normally and the likes?

Its over. The people have had enough hence every tourist trap in the land being currently overflowing. 

They can do what they want on the 21st, people don’t give a fuck and are carrying on anyway.

They may find themselves in hot water under the Disability Discrimination Act but I'd agree good on them. The number of people who claim to be exempt is disproportionally high. Just wear a mask its no real hardship!

Edit to add: If you're that vulnerable should you really be sat in the pub?
