These are, correctly, political decisions

Fine, absolutely fine

I thought we were listening to the science

He described the lifting of restrictions as “dangerous”

He toed the line in the main, but it was clear he’s not happy.

Trouble is, it's almost as if they're lifted already.

Can't help thinking it might help if a couple of top people actually said what we can all see. JVT for example with something along the line of "look, we've made it as easy as possible for you, but some are throwing it back into society's face. Now grow the fuck up, and get a grip"

Of course they listen to the scientists, but someone has to make (difficult) decisions

Science includes behavioural, economic etc. Not entirely medical.

In fact, forgive me, following the science, wasn't it?

Feels like the new line is 'moving on from dom'

What's he said

Interested as the bozo lovers rated him

‘In my opinion the rules are clear they have always been clear

in my opinion they are for the benefit of all

in my opinion they apply to all.’

Thats a BOOM

To be fair the scientists said they provide the advice the politicians make the decision. There are clearly some that think this is too early but some that do not.

?

Don't you agree then?

Despite this being made very clear from the off. Sage is not purely medical.

To be fair that has been clear.

It has been the behavourial lot saying how important it was for the leaders to also follow the advice.

Not to some, it would seem

Unfortunately, if this was a hint to BJ, I think it will be on deaf ears.

Very good.

Seems politicians and officials equally capable of being cuntish about all this as the public.

All through, the claim has been that it's all about saving lives

So we have listened to the science that saves lives

This science we are listening to now, isn't about saving lives. It's about getting the economy moving and getting folk to forget cummings

Imo

Fwiw, I'd never have closed the economy down, so I've no issue with the latest measures

I just don't believe the justification

If we fail, it won't be because of the Government, but the people.

We, the people, know what to do and what not to do

Why are they not comparing the stats like for like in terms of when we came out of lockdown surely that would be a better comparison?

Don't know about those stats, but according to the tracker Peely has quoted from a few times, as of 28th May we have a more stringent set of measures in place than (of those countries)...

Italy, Hungary, Germany, Sweden

And a less stringent set of measures than...

Poland, Spain, Turkey, Ireland, France, Belgium, Romania, Netherlands, Portugal

That's obviously as of now, rather than Monday, and is based just on the rules rather than how people are adhering to them. But I think it's clear that we're on the lighter side of things in Europe, and still with a comparatively very high death rate.

I doubt you would say that of the economy tanked under corbyn, but heyho, suns out, beers in the fridge

The party has started

I don't understand the comparison. Thankfully, we'll never know

I concur with your perspective re party, been a long day already!

Diver is right, of course, in theory.

People have been given a basic set of instructions but have failed with the nuances.

Stay at home, they said. Most did. But in the end too many people lost willpower/patience and then decided to say the message was fuzzy.

What didn’t help is that the message was open to interpretation. And certain sections of society will always do what they want.

I still say that they’ve rushed this through by a week or two because of Cummings

Before Royal leaps in with his sniper rifle, I have no evidence for this, just a gut feeling. But deflection is a common political tool used by all, so it wouldn’t be a surprise.

If the next wave comes, which hopefully it won’t, then they’ve scored an own goal. If not, then fair play.

It's a very strange place

We are losing many people every day, but our collective actions seem to sugest that, as a society, we are content with that.

I'm not suggesting "we" are selfish, perhaps it's too big a picture to see

Course they’ve rushed it in early because of Dom. Surely we can all see that?

That approach left town last week post Barnard Castle
