Blimey. I sat in the company of a proper full on conspiracy theorist tonight

Thinly veiled am in Malaga. Mate picked me up and took me up into the hills where he lives and to a restaurant run by a Brit who unbeknown to me is one of them

I’d always mistakenly assumed that they’d fixed onto one particular topic. Hell no. This guy had a long monologue about, amongst others

- Covid - how babies were deliberately killed to save old folk, various conspiracies about the different vaccines, how the arrows they put on pavements deliberately led folk to highly infected areas

- illegal immigration into the UK has been funded by Labour for years to destabilise the Tories

- don’t for Christ’s sake swim in the sea - there’s all sorts of underwater drones out there

There was loads of other stuff but I switched off and walked away

I genuinely now struggle to understand how these folk get through life, never mind run successful businesses when there’s ghosts around every corner

Way I’m feeling now think I’d stabbed the cunt 😀

It became white noise after a while and I totally zoned out. It was almost hypnotic.

Just goes to show, there are absolute zoons everywhere. Before social media, we never realised how many crazies are actually out there.

Was in the sauna at the gym and two blokes got into a heated argument about stuff like this

One was a proper conspiracy nutjob. 9/11 an inside job as he'd read an article of a website and the towers would never collapse like that. If you believe otherwise it's because you've read it on the left wing biased media and they control what they want you to believe, later went onto say that Hitler was the best at doing this sort of thing and that Govts are basically men in white coats controlling what we think

He didn't do social media as of you post anything the left don't like they'll get you sacked from your job and have your kids taken off you. Was a big fan of Andrew Tate though

I wasn't joining in but was more worried that one was stood with the door open and was letting all the heat out

I recommend this book as an antidote to gift to conspiracy theorists. And just for general reading for everyone else!

Link didn't work! 😁

little anecdote for you

amongst other things I do SEO for various clients as part of the day job

I work with a classic car spare parts website

have been focusing on the Porsche 911 section recently to improve traffic to that

as part of this been tracking various high volume terms that drive traffic to the site, analysing the results, see what works etc, basically tryign to get them to #1 for everything

few things to note with google

they change the results alot to match trends and seasonality

for example, before Oasis announced their tour, if you searched "oasis" you'd see the fashion brand, but now you see band news and official website, with the fashion site moved down a place because google thinks you're more likely to being looking for the band

another thing they've been doing recently is moving forums like reddit up to the top for certain types of search queries

so anyway

I'm going through the list of terms I'm tracking for the porsche 911

and I google "911 body parts"

and get this result

which is a bit grim

and they've knocked my client from #1 to #3

Big if true.

Dear me.

Presumably the poster will be getting a knock on the door on Sunday morning.

Haha. Only covering FA cup and World Cup as a punishment for such behaviour.

It's only slightly dafter than Trump really winning the election before last and there's a poster on here who believes that!

Reminds of every SEO agency I ever used. In one meeting we were going through 2 brands, first brand doing well Agency talked about everything they had done and how clever they were. Second brand struggling Agency talked about how horrible Google were.

Good = Us Bad = Google.

The Onion have just bought infowars.com 🤣

Deardens farm have said they won't feed bovaer to their cows, and no doubt plenty will follow suit.

Quite right too.

Why’s that?

Why’s that?

It reduces the production of an enzyme which plays a role in digestion and consequent emissions.

If that enzyme wasn't needed by the animal, why is it there.

We use medicines in people and animals to treat illnesses, and essentially help the body work as best it can

This seems to be a concoction designed to reduce the animal's ability to function as well as it can.

All a but sad when a big company chases "green" credentials in this way.

I might say the same about your appendix - or your coccyx 😁

You might, but I'd like to keep it!

Still plays a digestive function, and I'd be a bit miffed if Amazon insisted I have it out for the benefit of the planet.

Don't suppose anyone would bother about my coxxyx, unless it releases something nasty.

So do other things in other feeds though ?
same as some things make us fart more and some things prevent farting and change how you react to foodstuffs  etc?
don’t think it’s harmful to the cow ?
May be wrong as I haven’t read much of this , there may be more than breaking down enzymes , but farmers been giving digestion aids in feeds for years , seaweed etc, not sure what’s so bad about this one and why it’s caused such a response that previous things didn’t ?
