The encouraging thing from yesterday I believe is there’s far more to come yet from this team and already looked half decent. Tonnes of work still to be done but that will have surprised nobody

Nobody knows till an hour before KO but I'd be surprised if Crewe play anything like their "first team" given they had a tough league cup game yesterday and will be focused on their first league game in a higher division 4 days later.  I've never taken the tinpot cup seriously and I'm not going to start now just because its a new manager, just another friendly as far as I'm concerned and counts for nothing, its all about avoiding injuries and then onto Forest Green.

That's my concern, complete lack of width.  I know we have to move on from the past and I've no problem with that - but I cant remember the last time we started a season without one winger.  Seriously, if anyone can think of a season in last 40 odd years we didnt have a winger let us know.

Completely agree, he's got to be more central to get the best out of him.  Hill played him out of position and he didnt touch the ball for 20 minutes at a time, waiting for a pass.  Scares defences to death running at the centre backs, when out wide just another wide player, not special.  Difficult to see how he'd get starts under Evatt's system though, no room for him in a 3 man midfield if everyone available.

On the BLM taking a knee thing.  It was the players first chance to do it and I'm glad they did.  Surely any decent person would want to show their support for their stance and to our black players in particular?   If we'd been allowed in yesterday, you'd have come across as a real asshole turning your back on our players.

That’s a good idea MickyD, I think most fans understand and sympathise with the situation and what happened to George Floyd and accepted the knee bend initially but it’s now gone way beyond that and has become a political statement instead and has no place on a football pitch. It should have ended with the season not carried on into this one. Unless fans indicate that we’ll be stuck with it.

People are seriously considering 'turning their back' in protest? I bet none of you actually do it on match day. And if you do it'll mark you out as a massive bellend.

I wouldn't turn my back but I wouldn't think people who did so are bellends. Everybody is entitled to an opinion - that's what diversity actually means. 

I do share the sentiment that the relentless woke virtue-signalling now needs to stop. If it seeks to convert people to a cause it's having the polar opposite effect. 

We've done it once. Enough.

I go to the match to get away from all the shite we have to put up with in life and have a bit of a crack. Not to see a political stance

I've no intention of offering any support to a political organisation that's gone way beyond its initial protest roots.

Because judging from yesterday's game the whole thing took about 5 seconds. And I don't think looking at something counts as 'offering support'. 

Turning your back is what's going to make things political. 

Just let them get on with it and hopefully they'll fuck it off in a couple of weeks. Make a big deal out of it and they'll be doing it for years as they won't be able to back down from doing it every game.

when it was kicking off months back you had the option to turn your tv over but when I’m paying my money to watch a football match I don’t want that

I hope they carry on doing it. It’s a good way to show solidarity. All racism needs to be called out.

Delfounso obviously felt strongly enough about it to raise a fist as well as take a knee.  As a Wanderers fan why would you not want to show support for how one of our own is feeling?  As a human being, why wouldn't you?

Its not going away though is it. Been going on for months. I dont intend to make a big deal of it, turning a back or sitting down etc is very much the opposite. 

We could show ire and shout abuse or smash a few seats up but would definitely be cuntish.

Frankly, if the Tory Party, Labour, Extinction rebellion or monster raving loonies were being saluted pre match they'd also get the same disrespect.

Football is for fans, prefer politics left outside.

I've no problem with that they have done it.I just don't agree with it being done time and time again.Its becoming abit scouserish
