Cancer

It's a cunt isn't it? A mate of mine just passed away, 40, just married, two kids... Don't get me wrong, he lived a life as teenager, but matured better than most - certainly better than I did.

Are we ever gonna cure 'it', wherever, whatever it may be?

I knew he was poorly, but thought I passed him on the school run a week ago.

I haven't been out for a drink since March (apart from 5 days in Portugal where I didn't drink alcohol) because I've been on chemotherapy for SCLC (Small Cell Lung Cancer) this mixed in with Sensory Ataxia (easily googled) and I've been a bit poorly, anyway they have stopped my chemo as the consultant says "we are pissing in the wind" so back to the drawing board for more scans and tests, when they can get me in. meanwhile the Ataxia gets worse, so yesterday I went to Colls for a pint and a meal, ended up having four pints which I have regretted today as I've been sick as fuck all day, guess that shit isn't out of my system yet, Cancer is a bastard but it can be beaten.

Stay strong mate, when my club foot has healed, I'll nip down and have a brew with you 👍 xx

Cancer is a fucker. It will never be eradicated. It can’t be

Its about catching it early. My sister ignored blood in her piss for months and months. Her daughter finally forced her to hospital. Grade 4 bladder cancer. Died from the secondaries in the brain. My mate in Ireland who died the other week. Ignored the mole on his face that had gone “crusty”. Same thing. Brain secondaries

If summat’s not looking or feeling right go get it looked at. Catching it early is the key. Other side of the company that I work for deals with breast, liver and kidney cancer. The results are so good if caught early.

Best wishes to anyone on here who has it or has family members who have it. It can be beaten. Just don’t ignore it

Cheers Scwelshy👍

My Dad is going through treatment for myeloma (bone marrow cancer) his long time mate passed away from a different form of cancer over the weekend. Fella was diagnosed after my Dad and went rapidly downhill.

It's all about catching it early and contacting the doc if you feel off for a good while. My Dad's issue was picked up after he got DVT in the flights to Aus to see my brother. Dad being Dad he'd probably have ignored any symptoms.

He was due to go for the next step of his treatment before the 1st lockdown had got his levels sorted again to go for treatment hopefully this new lighter lockdown won't hold up his treatment again.

Cancer is a cunt and hard to treat because for every type of cell in your body there's a type of cancer.

I've got a hard white mole type thing appeared on my chest that's growing by the way.

Mrs won't let me slice it off.

Sebaceous cist maybe?

Get down to the docs. Get an ultrasound scan on it if you're a bit worried.

Having seen your VE day outfit I reckon it's just a skin tag from the chest straps chaffing

Just slice it off when she's not there.

I bet Big Mick would just tell you to get it sliced off with a stanley knife, and then put a bit of electrical tape over it until it stops bleeding

Watched him do just that to a wart thing he had on his wrist.

Think the worst I did was pop an abscess under my tooth with the pin bit on my Mrs name badge from work.

Ended up losing two teeth.

Yeah Ill just go docs eh :D

I had something similar on my head a few months ago.

A message sent to the doctor online and I was seen the next day, scan a few days later and bit removed for testing a few days after that.

Fortunately it was benign but better safe than sorry.
