Surely there won’t be any danger in this game being off. The start of 10 matches in 5 weeks. Is this where the promotion charge starts?

Will the Morecambe manager/fans look at the players’ reaction and be embarrassed? Will they bugger. They will use it as justification for why they should do exactly the same next time.

We can take the moral high ground, but we’ll end up worse off as a result (in terms of getting decisions from the ref).

Said it before, i dont want us doing that

Players been reffing games forever

Coukd be argued it shows team spirit and engagement. It’s not much different to them all going in together like they did v Wolves in that heralded match

Remember us bemoaning not having the nous to do it at a championship level when we got relegated from the Prem

the game’s not “gone” cos of stuff like that, it’s more what is and isn’t allowed these days, the 2 issues don’t need to be conflated

Completely different to wolves situation, imo

Doesnt matter anyroad, i dont like it

agree

Still disappointed

Yep, been an angry person today.  Watching without alcohol doesn’t seem to work.

It is for a different reason of course, but both illustrate a togetherness that we are missing, yes?

Other than Brockbank and Delaney none of the regular players were here last season.

I'd say that has a lot to do with that lack of togetherness.

I kinda disagree Franky

Togetherness is about sharing a common vision & executing it with belief, not about tenure. I’ll concede that I’m sure it’s easier when the group knows each other better but it’s not just about that.

We’ve missed this group passion for a decade iMO

I said it yesterday, it's a bad decision by the referee, he pandered to the Morcambe turds, and the player who was rolling around like he had been shot never recieved treatment and the physio isn't on the pitch.

I also watched the one on Thomasson in the first half, if Thomasson goes down rolling around holding his ankle, and our players hound the referee, does their lad get sent off?, probably not, these refs are looking for big scalps and we have been the victims of this during the season, the refs have been diabolical, Evatt needs to get his players to start doing some creative cheating, that includes hounding the referee at every opportunity, I won't like it and some on here won't, but if we want out of this division, Evatt is going to have to go against his principles.

If we didn’t waste the first 42 minutes passing back & square we’d of been out of sight when Maddison got sent off, evatt should have made a change after 25 minutes, BSA wouldn’t of been scared to do that, we were passive and gave a poor team far to much respect.

I agree with you on that Mounts, I'm just commenting on the actual red card, I thought all the subs at the same time were silly, better putting one on at a time, we were only 1 up, so in that sense it waste time, and Brockbank went down and had to be subbed, Evatt should have had the balls to send the subs back whilst he sorted the RB situation out. We were playing well enough and they were no threat at all, especially with that lump of shit up front Stockton.

Did strike me as odd that. They were on the pitch before we'd even figured out whether Brockbank was going to be coming off or not.

You'd give it five wouldn't you? Or at least I would have.

He bottled it, big players who he couldn't or wouldn't say, "hold back lads, change of plan"

Do you reckon it's that? Or do you reckon he was just over eager to get his new world-beaters on the pitch.

If it is what you're suggesting then he's a massive fanny and shouldn't be in the job!

It might be rose coloured specs but I've always taken a bit of pride in BW playiers being generally full of honest pro's when it comes to the dark arts etc, if they go down its because they're fouled and if they stay down, they're injured *, I dont recall many nasty players over the last 40 years.  * give or take Diouff or Campo buying a free kick, but all in good fun in a pantomime villain type of way.

Jesus! Maverick looks like he could do with putting a bit of weight on, maybe he should ask Sarcs for a few tips?

Been saying the same all season.

Every ref seems to love shafting us.

That gobshite ref at Tranmere took the biscuit, laughing and joking with the Tranmere players as he gifted them the game.

Not disagreeing about re Brockbank thing, but you can only make subs 3 times, so if you bring 2 or 3 at once you still have the option of using all 5, if 1 at a time the last 2 subs couldn't have been used, and on another day if someone's injured they might have been needed rather than change for change's sake which is what it seemed to be.

I think he'd decided beforehand and carried through, so to speak.

Who was Mad trying to pass to before that sending off

Interesting point that.

when we were a decent team I used to enjoy watching the match with a relatively clear head (2 pints max) that way I could appreciate the game from a tactical perspective.

since we’ve been shite I tend to prefer watching with a fuzzy head (up to 4 pints & a hip flask for regular in-match top ups) this method seems to help me get through the 90 mins without contemplating suicide!

Is it just me that finds watching us a frustrating & totally unenjoyable experience at the moment? I just know we can play better, given the players we have at this level, we should be playing better, but we are a frustrating watch week after week. I think we pay other teams far too much respect, stop arsing about passing sideways & backwards & try rippping  ‘em a new arsehole right from the start.

The frustration IMO is that the opponents are awful and we do not have to do much to win games, but keep coming up short. Look at our goal last night, win the ball a decent run, nice ball and finished.  No one had to do anything exceptional. We have a squad of players that should be doing really well second half of this season but I think we are too far behind.
Under Sam we had years where the sum of the parts was better than the individual parts, feels the total opposite at the moment

I still think we'd have fared better with fans in the ground.

Not sure about that Pompey (and us to lesser extent) found you are a cup final for the smaller clubs both home and away, with players and fans raising their game.

Well there is that! Good point. Even the Referees get a bit giddy 😀
