Beer Gardens

When/if we are allowed out this year can you recommend any decent beer gardens? Might not be able to drink but I miss actually socialising and basking in the sunshine. Though I'd plan ahead 😂

  • Sitting in a beer garden when the suns out and women have skimpy gear on is great.

Aye, we were on that one.......it first broke down at one of the services this side of Brum, while a full coachload of pissed off Bolton fans were standing around ,a van full of Blackpool fans parked

Last day of the season when we played City and lost 1-0 in a proper non event of a final day

Pre match in Dukes beer garden, was roasting, then ended up on front row of away end with no shade

Pretty much had sun stroke by 5pm

Christ that was hot that day. My brother (Massive) had ST’s down the front right next to the away fans so I went with him on his Mrs’ ticket. I spent the early afternoon boozing outside at that shithole Mary D’s. Was almost passing out at the end of the game. Genuinely been a drinking in the shade man ever since

Was that the game that someone set fire to some plastic. I had a freebie in Man City end and was sussed out when I didn’t celebrate their goal. No hassle/wry smiles etc.

Ended up on deansgate locks off my rocks ha

Think most ended up in Manc on the piss that day

Going slightly against the grain here but I dont actually like drinking in the sun.

In the shade yes.

Never liked drinking in sunny weather. Dehydrated in no time, and for some reason, always thought a good pint tasted shit.

Lager doesn’t really work in direct sun unless you shotgun it within a couple of minutes.

A quality cider with ice though, now that really makes my winkie twitch

Shade > sun for drinking. Not a fan of warm ale and squinting

Equally give me a nice pint in front a roaring fire in country pub any day.

Let's hear some recommendations for that...

River Wyre pub a stones throw from me is delightful on a cold winters day. Open fires throughout. Could sit there all day.

Castleton village in the Peak District, few lovely little pubs, big fires, pub grub, dogs welcome, lovely in the winter

York is my favourite place for cosy pubs. Can't beat it there.

Same. Now I'm pregnant. I blame Yorks pubs.

Strangely I blame a Micky Evan's double at York giving Argo first away win in two years for our eldest's conception.

I’ve booked a weekend in York in July hoping we can go. I’ll be too bladdered to tamper with the wife
