Candles and beers ? Great idea eh. All these people on social media and stealing oxygen on the tv just now. Point me to where they were on this topic last week please pal? Assuming that the issue was still there last week yes? Before the poor lass went missing? Where were all the vigils and protests about it then? They’re weren’t but the issue was there then it’s been there for years and years since your own tragic story which is heartbreaking no human should be subjected to that sort of attack but it’s the world we live in there are an increasing number of nutters out there. Peter sutcliffe wouldn’t have not murdered folk if he had gone through how to treat a woman at school you know that as do I you are one of only two folk on here that accuse people of not getting it around this subject. Even the lefty cabal have deserted you both on this one. Try looking at it form the other side rather than just playing down everything we say on the topic? Maybe everything is a bit harsh tbf, but the majority of what we say. it would be great if no murders, assaults rapes or attacks were made by men on women. Would make us all delighted to never have to worry about a loved one again I’m sure every bloke on here would echo that 1000% but faux social media outrage for likes again just like BLM and all the shit before it just takes it the the other way and a lot of people become tired of a very important message very quickly. It’s counterproductive. It truly is. no doubt you or your mate will be along to tell me I’m wrong. Well before you do I’m not wrong. It’s my opinion and I’m fully entitled to it same as you. and if you’re going to reply do so before 830 as Vera is on and it’s a episode 1 of a series I’ve not seen. TIA I'm not meaning to play down everything you or others on here say on this topic. I think a lot of what you're saying on this is fair enough. Probably making it sound otherwise because it's an issue that's close to home for me. The reason I like this forum, other than the Whites, is because you hear all sorts of opinions. Which is refreshing in a world of who shouts loudest on social media. I'll be the first to admit I've adjusted my views on things after reading what others have posted. I'm not set in my views. I just don't think this is black and white. It's not as simple as everyone who is triggered by what happened is hijacking the event. I don't deny that people are. Even the people on TV who you speak of. Some of them will be offering meaningless, over emotional solutions that make no sense. But others will using the space to highlight a very real issue and simply be trying to open up a discussion. And if you look into some of the groups then yes they will have been there a week ago and the week before and for countless weeks before. It's the media who invited them on in response to the topic. That's how the news works. A few weeks ago their cause wasn't important but many of them were still trying to raise awareness. Just because some militant lesbians or a Green MP are offering daft as fuck solutions doesn't mean that others taking up the air time don't have some decent points. For what it's worth I think the dust should be allowed to settle. But if a few weeks down the line people are still talking about wider issues, then I don't see that as a hijacking. Seems a bit hypocritical if they try doesnt it ? What protests were these ? I'd imagine if this was a thing then I doubt it was as clear cut as you say. Loads of what the left does is hypocritical. Probably one of the reasons very little is changing. I still wonder where everyone shouting about equal rights was when elements of the Muslim community starting abusing teachers over the curriculum in Birmingham a couple of years back.

From what I've seen on social media it's a lot of stats of what "men" do, which can't be denied, but it's not a problem that ALL men have to work on I know what it's like though, once was out on Canal Street with mates, on way home a big gay lad followed me all the way down Whitworth Street to Oxford Road staying around 10 metres behind wolf whistling every 10 seconds or so, definitely felt intimidating and like i might get bum raped It'd be a shame if every woman felt like that every time they were out at night, but it's a handful of men letting the side down and am not sure what I can do about it Edit Should add, carry on with the conversation, protests, vigils etc, I fully support it as the issue is there, but I see no reason, for example, that Davina McCall should come under fire or get grief for her point of view, as that too is part of the discussion and a perfectly valid point, but there's been a back lash because it doesn't suit Edited March 13, 20215 yr by Zico

March 13, 20215 yr Being sent into sex offenders homes to nurse them as they 'can't leave the house' has toughened me up a bit. We go in twos (not sure how two women instead of 1 is safer) Always make a plan before hand. Basically if we feel unsafe or uncomfortable we drop everything and run. We have nothing to protect us, not even a panic alarm. That's fun.
