Morecambe Away

Could this be an actual away day.

I know we're not getting in the ground but its a cheap train fare away and the pubs are open.

Match on your phone.

Sounds like a plan to me

for people who expect us to just sweep past opposition because they had 10 men yes the 2nd half was poor. We managed the game really well. Teams are always going to get that 1 chance regardless.

Is Morecambe the same dreary place it was 30 years ago?

Shitty student accommodation and tacky tourist tat stalls?

... & a fckg huge Nuclear Power station.

Morecambe's OK, no delusions of grandeur, just a working class town that happens to be by the sea.

Enough pubs to drink in.

If you are walking the prom in Morecambe,  why would you walk towards Heysham looking at the power station, when if you walked in the opposite direction you could have one of the finer views this country has to offer over the bay towards the lakes?

Just don't look in land!!

Few good pubs around the area, the crossing micropub at Hest Bank is worth a visit, and the Hest Bank itself has a nice beer garden on the canal and used to be good for food, but not been that way in a few years

Did the walk from Hest Bank, along the coast (past that big house from The Bay), through Carnforth and back along the canal a few weeks ago - about 8.5 miles total. Really nice & not too busy at the time - it'll be better when the pubs are open though!

Yeah that is a great walk and certainly plenty of watering holes along the route.

I walk along that stretch quite often. Might have a mooch out tomorrow if the dry forecast comes true.
