Sweep Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 If the rumours are true, and Iran are about to start launching, then we are in for a bit of fun and games, as that'll probably drag the US into it (and by default, the UK probably)Â Quote

Together with a surprising number of middle Eastern countries too. Just a token effort from Iran again I reckon. Either that, or they get twatted. Quote
Marc505 Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 Seems to be a far bigger wave of missiles than last time Quote

And no reports of fatalities. Also questioning on the radio if they were targeted to fly over (but not land on) population centres. Total speculation at this point mind. Quote

Quite the opposite, the videos I've seen would suggest the defences are overwhelmed. If you fire enough missiles some will get through, seen it suggested up to 400 have been launched. Quote

I've not seen any footage that suggests the defences were overwhelmed but new footage is coming out all the time. Have you got a link to the footage you've seen please? It's the Israeli emergency services who are claiming there aren't any serious casualties as a result of the launch. Which says to me that not many of them landed? Hopefully that's right....... Quote
gonzo Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 It's deffo the sun and heat that boils all their heads over there and they spend centuries kicking off with eachother. Winter kills all that elsewhere. Quote

Marc505 Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 Iran has usually acted up to a point where it can save face in front of its own but not so much that it provokes a devastating or escalating response. I don't know how this tallies with that, and fuck knows what happens next. Quote

From the correspondents I follow, anything from the same number as last time to double or triple. Seems quite clear they've been a lot more effective than last time though, maybe the interceptor missile stocks are low or overwhelmed, they've been in use constantly I guess. Probably IAF/US jets (possibly ours too) intercepting them over neighbouring countries like last time too but can imagine it being pretty challenging intercepting missiles rather than drones. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 If they are managing their stocks of interceptors, then they may be leaving some that are tracking towards uninhabited areas. We'll see. Quote

Reckon it's just earlier footage from a live feed. Taped off area, and loads of security suggests concern about an "on the ground" incident. Apparently, a Palestinian has been nobbled in the West Bank by falling debris! Quote
