gonzo Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 There's a humongous misconception in the media and elsewhere that Harry Kane is just a number 9 marksman and we have no cover etc. He's anything but just a number 9. The biggest conundrum is how we are going to facilitate him and his role and get someone in the actual no9 position playing off him. Reckon Tuchel has eyes on that man being either Foden or Bellingham with one of those in at 8. Kane has been unbelievable in a free role, coming deep and spraying balls around and making runs in to the box. Seems to be this mad idea that Watkins and the likes are his replacement when in reality they are anything but. Quote
Marc505 Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 Sounds like its being played in a swimming baths this Quote

deeane Koontz Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 Been saying it for years should just play him behind a striker who actually stays up front and let him do what he wants. The amount of times we got caught in the Euros with him drifting about 40 yards behind play with no cunt up front was infuriating 🤣 Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 Atmosphere at Wembley is pants…. Oh for the 1970s when every game at Wembley seemed to have the sense of occasion passion and atmosphere. Quote

Mixing it up a bit as he does is fine- so long as other attacking players get beyond him and make things happen. Quote
desperado Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 There’s a few who might combust after Tuchel’s post match interview Foden’s best position described as being a 9 and a half 🤣 Quote

Popular Post Dr Faustus Posted November 14, 2025 Popular Post Posted November 14, 2025 Biggest cheers tonight were for the paper planes hitting the pitch. I’ve also learned that being close to Wembley as the crow flies means fuck all when it comes to the tube! Anyway, 9th/10th trip to Wembley, first time under the lights- free tickets, cheap trains, expensive drinks but worth it Quote
Wanderlust Posted November 14, 2025 Posted November 14, 2025 England had echoes of watching us at times with the emphasis on wing play, central striker chasing back and picking up the ball deeper, defensive set up and midfield movement similar, occasional long diagonal etc…..wonder if Tuchel’s been watching Schumacher? Tonge moor green jacket Posted November 16, 2025 Posted November 16, 2025 33 minutes ago, gonzo said: He was deffo injured wasn't he. Mind you the whole team looked leggy. Yes, they did. Here's a thought, and the last game sort of highlighted it. As we made our subs, the game became a bit more open, and Serbia got through a couple of times. At the same time we saw what Bellingham can bring, in an attacking way, as a free-roaming player. H also lost out in a challeng once or twice, and didn't make any effort to track back. I'm thinking Tuchel sees how the team has performed without him- solid defensively, and scoring goals- and doesn't feel the need to rush him back after injury. At the same time, perhaps there is a conundrum of how to set the team up to allow Bellingham the freedom, without compromising defensively. A "campo" type in front of the defence perhaps, but certainly not rice. Anyway, I think it's important not to immediately resort to the a fixed 11 or so, but allow players who have come in and done well, to continue to perform and develop. Good for moral and squad strength. Quote
