Liverpool

I'm there for three days at a conference. It will be dull, as its full of museum folk, and whilst I love what they do, Glastonbury it ain't.

It's at the exhibition centre on the front, I've not been to Liverpool for a few years, anywhere decent round there I can escape to of an evening for a quiet pint and avoid having to laugh at antiquity puns I don't understand?

Otherwise it's self-abuse in the Jury's Inn.

A Sports Bar? Know your audience!

its more a real ale kind of gaff. you know for argumentative types who drink that shite. thought it would be right up your street :D

We went for a weekend and thought it was great.

Neon Jamon was a very good Tapas place. There is one in the centre one we went to was a bit outside.

I was surprised how nice it was. Avoid anything with pictures of The Beatles outside

think you are way off there. its lovely down the docks. Mixture of new and old. Plenty of places to go.

Bias i know but i prefer Liverpool to Manchester. always found Manchester shit unless going for a rave or with @jules_darby / a local who knows where to go.

There is a new sports bar on the docks (The Long Shot) which is decent they have another bar in town (Present Company) which is ace behind Primark where I hget my best togs from

I like both cities. Scousers are ace as well.

Walk over the dock Road and go to baltic triangle starting off with the baltic pub, I think it's become a bit more popular but it'll be an easy escape and 5 minute walk.. baltic used to be a great pub.. hopefully still is.

Went for a free party in the museum of Liverpool. The wine made it a better experience.

Everything was shut for food other than a pizza express.

It's OK, still not Manchester but cities with rivers are always pretty at night.

Had a cracking steak at the Cowshed near Bold Street a couple of years ago.

Sorry, nowhere half decent is cheap nowadays.

Spoons is OK if you just need something quick and cheap to wash some ale down with, but thats about it.

On that note, had my first Nandos this week :  underwhelming tbh.

Don't give that cunt any of your (or works) heard earned, I am sure a local cafe would be happy for it.
