Looking at a long girls weekend witht the girls in Albufeira. Close to bars and restaurants and not a shit hole. Im 35 now the 1* holiday apartments are a thing of the past. Anyone any recommendations?

Going up to Clitheroe next weekend. We’ll be looking over the valley into the town watching the fireworks on Bonfire Night. Traditional night of burning an effigy of a Catholic terrorist.

One of my favourite nights of the year as a kid. Never understood why my Catholic school teachers didn’t promote it as an occasion to be celebrated. 
Still look forward to it every year.

Tried to go to Slovakia once from the Czech side. Got stopped and put in a detention centre with some gypsies. 
This freedom of movement isn’t all its cracked up to be.

A little B&B at the back of Coral Island, Lumada Hotel I think it was called. Run by a lovely couple, spotlessly clean and cheap as chips.

It's a wonderful place to visit. Chilled vibe, lovely beach, and a great base for visiting Girona, Barcelona, Tarragona etc
