Could always fly to France. Maybe not. This affects all travellers, EU or 3rd country.

Looks like Ryan air are carrying out more strikes in France with pay being to blame. Pretty sure Ryan airs owner was blaming Brexit for all his airlines mishaps recently

Just been away for 2 weeks on the trains. Edinburgh to London. London to Paris. Paris to Turin. 10 days in Northern Italy then back again.

Absolutely no bother other than a slightly delayed Eurostar going out. Trains in Italy are cheap and brilliant.

Beats flying any day.

Hoping to do the London to Prague trip by train soon. It may be the future😉 It’s easy to be put off by everything that’s going on but people will still travel by whatever means. Agree that trains beat flying but a train to Sydney could be a problem.😊

I  started watching the Joanna Lumley 'Silk Route' programme again, we nearly did the Silk Route when we went to Kazak a few years ago (when I got locked up) but flew instead, it is still on my travel bucket list

Is it not possible that the queues at Dover are predominately down to Brexit but the issues in other countries are not?

All or nothing

Used to travel regularly from Vienna to Brno in CZ. and Prague to Dresden/Berlin. Love the dining cars. A throwback to Agatha Christie films.
Very civilised and environmentally friendly of course. Hence my😉

The queues are down to the French being French and blaming Brexit. We’ve had these issues before we left. It’s just convenient for them to blame Brexit.

So these queues would have still happened without Brexit?

Clearly not, to some people.

I posted a link the other day of delays in 2014. You could argue that the French are being awkward because of Brexit so who knows. Passport checks now take longer, we know that. So put more border guards in place. It’s not rocket science.

We chose to leave, not France. So why should THEY employ more border guards?

To make it easier for travellers to enter and spend our pounds in their country boosting their economy. Would we make it difficult for people wanting to come into this country to do the same? They knew the new regulations and they knew it would be the busiest time of the year.
Just like the Champions league final, they aren’t very good at organising and quick to blame others. Us.

We literally voted to do that... Unless you think we should still accept Free Movement into the UK from EU countries?

The phrase cake and eat springs to mind.

You cant vote to take control of your borders and abolish free movement then kick off when things become stricter.

Works both ways doesnt it.

Anyway lets not spoil the thread....

Anyone done a Real Madrid or Barca trip? Gonna book one for my lads. Ill be using traf for travel but whats the score with tickets?

Judging by the number of folk I know who have been, Barca seems quite straight forward getting tickets but you’ll be higher than the away end at St James.
No idea on cost but as a place Barca > Madrid
