Doesn’t seem right to see players who normally play for ‘your’ team playing against you. Good entertainment though.

The on screen graphics are v dodgy

However garish doesnt always mean bad

Yeah I think it's the on screen madness it's needlessly wacky for the sake of it.

Actually don't mind T20 blast though and IPL when I've caught some. Just the right side of tasteful for me!

Its not even an easy layout to take in

The article I posted mentioned MLC in the US and how that might compete against our domestic comps. I can't see it. The fans in the stadium are nearly all Asian. Getting Hank from Chicago and Brad from Albuquerque interested is at least 25 years away. I can see MLC going the same way as NASL did when football was first pushed in the US.

Anyway it's only a matter of time before the Saudis stick their noses in and fuck things up in cricket.

I went to a game last year at the Oval, I couldn't get into it at all, as the teams didn't make sense to me, as I'm used to them being County based. In the main the crowd was kids and women (there was a womens game on before the blokes game)  - I didn't take to it, but lots of kids seemed to be enjoying it, and there was some pop singer on in between games. 

I'm not sure I see the need for 20/20 and The 100, they've clearly seen there is a market there though

It is cheap,  it is quick, it can be exciting and it keeps cricket in this country.  We can try an cling to traditions if we want but the bigger picture needs to be taken into account.

Not necessarily given the hosting counties do pretty well out of it. And it does genuinely get a completely different audience to even T20. But without any international competition to back it up, it is only likely to last so long.

The majority of the revenue is taken by the ECB and there have been suggestions the loyalty payments are going to be reduced or scrapped altogether

The ECB brought it in because they were unhappy the counties retained the revenue from the T20 Blast

The competition's sole purpose is to help the ECB become mire like rhe BCCI

The 100 won’t last 5 years.

T20 blast is perfect for those wanting a slog fest.

And as has been mentioned, the graphics on the telly are baffling, needless and irritating.

I did buy at Manchester Originals hat the other day as a keepsake. Because I honestly think it’ll be gone very soon.

My Dad was massively into cricket. Played for clubs all over the country as and when he moved with his job. My mum was the faithful scorer and sandwich maker and she’s got a loft full of cricket score books from the 50s, 60s and 70s. She’s 84 and absolutely loves the 100. Texts me every time a game is on TV

Ive enjoyed it this year. Shame Manc got beaten in the final but enjoyed every game that I watched no matter who was playing

Like any sport, if it’s not for you, then don’t watch it 

For me, there’s cricket grounds that wouldn’t be otherwise used, loads of kids and families enjoying an evening out, men’s and women’s games played on the same day, and folk who otherwise wouldn’t give two shites about the game having a gander at it

Would rather watch two sides in the 100 going for it than Fulham vs Burnley in the Prem

I've done a few down at the Oval, as it's really cheap for corporate entertaining. It's a bit of a kid fest, as I think they let kids in for nothing, or maybe charge them a £1 or something. It's pretty much just the same as T20 from what I could tell. The few games I've gone to, they get the flatdicks to play first, but I don't know if that happens everywhere, that's good for a laugh, because women, at that level, really are fucking shit at cricket

narrow defeat for us tonight, close game in the end

Went last night. As said before, it's more of a beginners cricket match / kids cricket. I do the Tests with my pals, but we take our kids to the Hundred games. It felt a little flat to be honest, and only really got exciting with 4 balls to go, despite the best efforts of the DJ.

But, i think if anyone goes with an open mind and accepts it for what it is, it'll be a decent enough evening out.

 

what puts me off - as an armchair fan - are the graphics, both the garish colours and theyre more complicated than need be, the fact its manchester and that theres lancs players playing for other teams

its all a bit 'i can't be arsed'

The graphics are horrendous. And even worse, they count down the runs the chasing team needs to win. So in the stadium, you can’t actually see how many they’ve scored, just how many they need. My brain can’t compute it. 

Like I said, good for families, kids and cricket newbies. But it ain’t ‘proper’ cricket
