I'd give him a medal... but maybe in the interest of keeping everything calm... an informal pat on the back.

It's a shit job sometimes and we really need to give our police more support.

I recall getting a beating from a copper on Deansgate late on a Friday night back in the day... I tried it on and got what I deserved... mates just took the piss the next day.
