She says the original judge carried out a "careful sentencing exercise" but the Court of Appeal has decided the non-custodial sentences for X and Y were "unduly lenient".

Each of the two incidents were "extremely serious" but the fact the behaviour was repeated in the second incident is the "crucial feature".

Z, she explains, was only involved in the second incident and is younger than the other two defendants. The judges have decided his sentence was not unduly lenient, she says.

I didn't know Bicester Camp was shut... the MoD spent 10's of millions there, a lot of it with me... a training base for bomb disposal engineers, we built a huge sand pit filled with Afghan soil to train how to deal with live IEDs. Never seen so many disabled bogs, most of the instructors were in wheelchairs.

Then we built a street of "Luton council houses" with secret voids where bomb making gear could be stashed so they could train searchers and how to deal with a bath full of chemicals.

Another waste of defence funding?
