Age is just a number, but I think one of the issues that can arise from an age gap is experience. A bloke who is 30+ going out with a girl 20+ (or the other way round) may have gone through life experiences such as having his own house/marriage/kids and the other one wont. So while one is getting all excited about things, the other thinks 'been there, done that'. It can be nice going through new experiences together. Or for more straightforward advice, refer to NB's post!
