That's where we sit! why should we pay more considering I'm on my 33rd consecutive season ticket & I queue'd from 3.00am, before the Reebok opened, to get these seats?
-
TOSSER!
-
Surely that's last seasons kit!

Thing is guys, it's up to us proper fans to drown out the morons. That means on here &, more importantly, at the Reebok. So, for starters, whovever comes on here & starts slagging this thread/topic, name & shame em. Create a sticky of Bolton slaggers, make a list of everyone who slags Nolan/the club off, we need to get rid of them, hound them out, kill off their fuel! To all slaggers: yes you have the right to air your views, JUST GO & DO IT ELSEWHERE & DEFINITELY NOT AT THE BOK. IT'S TIME THE QUIET MAJORITY MADE THEMSELVES HEARD ABOVE THE LOUD MOUTHED MORONIC MINORITY.

Yeah, but Eveton (for example) have only done it once.

Spot on Traf.... Harrison out! Why can't the players see the hipocrisy of the 'stain'gents.
-
Dunster, what a waste of 400+ messages. You really are a tosser. So glad you can read this. So glad you can't reply. Redscum!

I hope he signs a new contract... THEN WE SELL HIM, ASAP!

Well said wiggum, I got done 3 weeks ago, more bl@@dy labour tax! Would have been nice to spend a couple of nights in Glasgow with 5000 Wanderers fans though. Ohhh well, we'll be back in Europe one day.

1) Santa Ana is the best bet... lots of bars in & around the square. Locals use them so not rip off prices. 2) Plaza Mayor... Okay, traffic free square, but very touristy, with prices to match & more geared towards eating than drinking. Definitely worth a visit though. 3) Sol... very busy with traffic & people, not very good for lots of drinking, but very good for the pick-pockets. Aberdeen only congregated there because they didn't know any better. All 3 squares are within walking distance of each other so you can easily check them all out. Worth spending an hour at Mayor, 15 min's. at Sol & the rest of the time at Ana. Enjoy!

I'm not picking & choosing, as I stated in my post, I would be more than happy if the pubs were banned from showing ALL dodgy satellite TV matches (thats's home & AWAY). On the odd occassion I would want to watch an away match on dodgy TV, if I couldn't, because the pubs were banned from showing them, I would be absolutely delighted. In case anyone else misunderstood me, I WANT ALL FOOTBALL ON DODGY TV BANNED. That's home & AWAY matches. And no, it most certainly is not the same principal, I'm not bothered about affecting the home clubs profit & loss account, WHEN THAT CLUB IS NOT BWFC. I don't expect fans of other clubs to be concerned about the profits of BWFC & I sure as hell aren't bothered about theirs. If anyone wants to add to my list, feel free to PM me.

Last Friday I had a meeting, at the Reebok, with Allan Duckworth & Phil Gartside. It was a meeting arranged in response to an email I had sent to Mr.Duckworth about Mr.Gartside???s comments in the Bolton News (Re: missing fans at the Reebok). The essence of my email, & the subsequent meeting, was to encourage the club to: 1) Reduce admission charges 2) Stop criticising the fans It was an interesting meeting & both Allan & Phil made me feel very welcome & listened to my views. We discussed much in our 2 hour session & whilst I stressed my points they were keen to demonstrate the ambitions of the club (e.g. to get into Europe, then be good enough to perform well enough the following season, whilst competing in Europe, to qualify for Europe again the following season ...... not many clubs, outside the top 4, have achieved that). These targets will place financial demands on the club that will soon account for much of the extra TV income which will be forthcoming next season (e.g. A significantly larger squad will be required). Imagine my surprise, late last night, when I saw the announcement that season tickets are to be reduced by 10% next season. I ???m not, for one minute, suggesting the prices have been reduced as a result of my meeting, although maybe I was the straw that broke the camels back. Anyway, one of the points raised during the meeting was the illegal screening of matches in pubs, which, we all agreed, was having a major impact on attendances. Phil & Allan said they were trying to stop this happening by taking the pubs through the courts, to which I replied, ???since you don???t live locally, do you know all the dozens of pubs which now show our matches illegally???? They said they had a dossier of pubs but would welcome any additions to it, to which I promised to email them a list. My list is prepared & ready for sending, however, I don???t know all the pubs, in & around Bolton, who show matches illegally, so this is where you come in. Please list, on here, all the pubs you know that show ???Al Jazeera??? matches in, say, a 5 mile radius of Bolton town centre. I will then compile a list of all the pubs & forward it to the club. Please include the following: ??? Name of Pub ??? Road/Street name pub is on ??? District of pub (e.g. Astley Bridge, Horwich) No doubt there will be some on here who will criticise me for attempting this, on the grounds that it has the potential to stop them being able to watch the Wanderers on dodgy TV at their local. I DON???T CARE. I couldn???t care less if you lose the convenience of being able to watch The Wanderers in the pub or that you will have to 'pay' to watch them live. I do care about Bolton Wanderers & the continued development & success of my (ours, if you agree) club. For the record, I have never, & will never, watch a game on dodgy TV whilst the Wanderers are playing at home, however, I have, & will continue to watch Wanderers games on dodgy TV (as & when it suits me) when the Whites are playing away (& I cannot attend the match live). No, I???m not a hypocrite; the away team doesn???t receive any income from away fixtures (not in the league anyway) and therefore this has no financial impact on the club. Having said that, I would gladly forfeit the opportunity to watch any away match on dodgy TV if they could be stopped from showing them, because the convenience & low cost of watching BWFC on dodgy TV is insignificant compared to having full houses at the Reebok. This is the view of a loyal & passionate Bolton Wanderers fan, if you agree with me & want to help, please list the pubs you know about. If you don???t agree with me, please don???t waste your time trying to justify your views, because, as I have said previously ???I REALLY DON???T CARE???. COME ON YOU WHITES

I can't believe there are people coming on here knocking the club for reducing season ticket prices, fortunately they are in the minority. Anyway, whilst there has been the odd season where the club hasn't increased the prices (e.g. This season), there has never been a season where they have reduced them! So well done to the club, you deserve a lot of credit & the backing of all the true FANS. I am going to start another thread (Fill the stadium) which has a link to this thread, please take a look.

18 Feb 2007 SAM ALLARDYCE Unthinkable as it may now seem, even Thierry Henry took the best part of a year to settle into English football. For many foreign signings, relocating to England to play in the Premiership is a culture shock and one which stops some from doing themselves justice. However, Sam Allardyce???s overseas acquisitions have paid dividends for Bolton Wanderers, with his team, embodying a diversity of cultures, challenging for Champions League qualification. Sue McCann spoke to Sam Allardyce for an insight into the secret of his success. ??? I think that it???s learning from the early years and doing a lot of research in terms of ???what do we need to do???? Then actually sitting down with the older experienced foreign players and doing ???appraisals??? with them which is probably an unsung word in the world of football. We used to do an appraisal with the player to find out what we couldn???t find out about something that might be hindering him away from the club. Players will very rarely come to you with something wrong away from the football club, they???ll come to you with something wrong internally at the club and have a discussion about football matters or they???re not happy with this or that or an injury but away from the club it???s very difficult to find out whether they???ve got any problems or not. So doing those appraisals with the Your Djorkaeffs, the Ivan Campos, the Bruno N??? Gottys gave us an insight into a service of integration into England and then English football. ???We appointed two player liaison officers, which at that time you obviously you had to prove to the football club was something worth doing. Your Chairman etc wouldn???t understand what you are trying to do, because they basically don???t deal with foreign players or their families and stuff like that. So we had to persuade them that if we settled the family as quickly as possible then the player would settle quickly. It probably really came from Jay Jay Okocha more than anybody when he sat down with us and said ???I???m in my 5 bed roomed house but I???ve only got one room furnished, my family???s not here because we can???t get the visas for them just yet, I can???t stand staying in hotels so I???ve kitted this one room out in my house that I am living in???. That was the indicator to say ???if we allow players to be like that, then how can we ask them to do what we want them to do on the pitch???. The thing is with them if they don???t tell you then there???s a lot of criticism levelled at them as a flop, a waste of money or wages. We did all we could to overcome that burden or culture shock that???s brought on a new player.??? Identifying the culture shock does appear to have minimalised the risk of players ???flopping??? at Bolton, I can???t think of anyone in recent years who hasn???t particularly worked for you... ???No not really in recent years. We do a lot of talking before, there???s a lot of psychological profiling and one on one discussions with the player before we both say ???yes???. I always have to meet a player before we sign him for at least two hours to have a conversation about whether we like each other or not, never mind what about the football differences. So that???s the biggest part of why foreign players have become successful and also because the player liaison go to the players family and say ???How much family have you got? How much family will come and visit you? What type of area do you want to live in? What type of school? What sort of church? We employ a Chaplin; we eventually got a prayer room because there???s a broad religious spectrum across the squad that you wouldn???t imagine normally. There???re five different religions and the different needs within those religions are more important to some players than others. We???ve got some players who are religious but not really followers, some in between and some devoted in their day to day life.??? Have you found working with all these players from different cultures rewarding in your career? ???It???s a big learning curve in your life; it???s a massive education in religious terms. I know more about religion now than I???ve ever known in the whole of my life, about what people actually need, what they need to do and why they need to do it. I had some difficulties in the beginning to understand that part, but then when you do understand it you do realise that it only enhances you as a person. Not just as a manager, as a person, because you???ve got a greater understanding so you???ve got more compassion and experience to make you better at what you do.??? At just 27 Nicolas Anelka has had a lot of clubs and appears to have had troubled settling in his career anywhere. Unfortunately he got that tag of ???Le Sulk??? but he???s certainly been playing with a smile on his face for Bolton ... ??? We???ve done the normal integration into Bolton Wanderers ???this is what we are, this how we go about our job, this is what we do, these are the parameters that we work in, this is what we accept and don???t accept and here???s a group of players that are dying for you to play for them.??? There are a lot of people who are on the same wave length as him from the sort of cultures that he is used to... you???ve got Abdoulaye Meite, Abdoulaye Faye, El Hadji Diouf and they are going to naturally bond together because they speak French. They come from similar backgrounds so they are naturally going to accumulate together and bond together and the rest of it follows around that, where they can all have their own cultures but then they all must come together and be one. That team spirit has hopefully affected Nicolas a little bit by making life a little bit more enjoyable but I also think he was ready to change himself because he???s matured. Now everybody talks about being successful for Nicolas???s ambition because he might be disgruntled if we don???t get there but I???d be the same, I???m disgruntled if I don???t get where I want to get. The only way to get there is by all doing it together and obviously improving the team and if he scores more goals and helps us reach higher in the league and helps us get back into Europe, we get more revenue and buy better players.??? How much satisfaction does it give you that Nicolas has been recalled to the French national side? ???We told him we???d get him back in at the start. It was probably the fact that if you are playing first team football at the level that we are playing at then every country is going to want you to play for them. I say that to all the players, ???if you are playing for Bolton Wanderers first team, then you???ll play for your country if you???re successful.??? There???s only Kevin Nolan that should be included in his country???s squad that???s not who???s in our side, everybody else who???s been successful (with us) plays for their country. Ali Al Habsi who???s only a bit part player won the goalkeeper of the tournament recently out in the Middle East , Jussi is the Finnish number one goal keeper, Diouf is the African Nations player twice and he???s only twenty four and he???s called up with Abdoulaye Faye who never got a look in at Senegal when he was playing in France, Joey O???Brien gets his first full Irish cap at under 21 level then at senior level as well, Stelios has won the European Championship, Idan Tal and Tal Ben Haim play for Israel who play against England in the next European Championship qualifier, Ricardo Gardner of Jamaica is a God.???

Yes, but Wigan clearly don't attract big enough (well paid enough) events to warrant using it purely for that purpose... It's hardly an easy venue to get to & lets be honest is very limited compared to our 'room'. I thought the exhibition hall was called the Premier suite, maybe I'm wrong, but we're talking about the same place anyway.
-
The reason they won't allow use of the premier suite is because it is regularly used for other events, these might be week-day events, weekend events or just Saturday nights. How easy do you think it would be to change the set-up of the room around so that it could accomodate 500 - 1000 pissed fans for a few hours every other Saturday/Sunday/Monday? And if you think it would be feasible to use the room on days when it wasn't booked for any other event, what do you think would happen outside on all the days it was being used for another event, & fans who had drunk their for the last 2 or 3 matches, now can't gain entry?
