  1. To be honest, in all seriousness, I would have thought you knew, we notify all emergency services of all planned works that could affect them and the fire brigade especially where we're working on live gas for obvious reasons. Bolton council also should notify you, as we pay them to do so,for more general schemes (i.e no live gas but a certain road wont be accessible for example) BMBC have known about these works and others for about a year.
  2. TM road is Gas main replacement, the holes are insertion pits that need leaving open, won't bore you with the exact reasons why, but each hole is connected to the next hole dug, it's a quicker procedure than digging a big fuck off trench to replace the old pipe. every building that has gas on Tonge moor d needs connecting to the new pipe, so each sevice needs a hole too, though these are usually in the footpath. Not only is each hole connected to each other in Tonge moo rd, but each is in conjuction with other pipe work on the same network across the Northwest, so that supply is maintained for the most part across the whole network and the works are timed mostly to coincide with warmer weather (less gas demand). roadworks hold you up, but better that inconvenience for a few months than your house blow up because the main leaked. Plus, it pays well That works moving up Tonge moor rd and will go all the way to Hough Fold in Harwood over the year.
  3. Stayed til the end, simply because I had the young lad with me on his first visit to Wembley and didn't want to ruin it anymore that it was, if that makes sense. can't help feeling if I was just with "the lads" would have been gone when they scored the 4th in all honesty
  4. we've had the fucking lows, today was supposed to be a high. not saying we should have expected to win easy, but jesus, a low today would have been being beat by a last minute winner from a shit ref decision after battering them,or missing a sitter like Holdsworth. today was more than a low
  5. less fans, more goals less fans more goals is what i hope we could sing, and if we can't, I wont be arsed what them plate making oat cake munching idiots are singing
  6. http://www.highways.gov.uk/news/crisisnews.aspx yep, should be, highways agency have now been allowed in to examine the structures, should be ok by tomorrow dinner/afternoon, depending what's found of course. link is a real time update on all traffic on HA controlled roads.
  7. On that link, without wanting to sound like an anoarak, there's a significant error, that, if people followed that advice and someone got hurt and looked into it, they could sue the arse off the council and the organisers. Dont know who from the council approved that release but it needs changing, as some people look for these mistakes and get "hurt" on purpose. wont say what it is on here obviously, but it's definitely wrong information on there regarding road closures
  8. http://www.metrolink.co.uk/tramtimes/results/ according to this, If I've read it right, Metrolink starts at 7 ish, Taxi to Radcliffe and your sorted
  9. Not that it should disrupt anyone's travel too much, but from Saturday Thicketford Rd will be shut at the junction with Tonge Moor Rd, for traffic travelling from Crompton Way and the junction controlled with temp traffic lights so it'll be be busier than usual.
  10. aye, also have to be honest that's why i guessed at that, Tom Mellor ford i think it was.
  11. Squad numbers and names on the back of shirts. "and in goal number 32........" oh fuck off. dont think I'll ever get used to that
  12. http://www.joe.ie/gaa/gaa-news/dublin-keeper-cluxton-flattens-jason-mcateer-in-charity-soccer-match-0011091-1 some talk of this being a stunt, but from people there, it looked pretty real.
  13. you going? I'm driving if you want a lift, D T and two eldest lads. sorry to everyone else having to read this, tried sending this as PM but wouldnt let me
  14. I had exactly the same once caused by exactly the same abuse, went to docs shitting myself, turns out, it was as some had said on here, just abused and stripped the "lining" off the back of the throat, meant it was prone to be sore when it wouldnt normally have been he'll probably tell you take it easy, and give you something to gargle if it's infected which meant, he told me no alcohol or smoking as it cant repair while that is washing over it, plenty of milk and honey sort things. he actually told me real ales would be ok but not mass produced tap beer or spirits along with the usual bollocking about smoking. would defo go and see the doc, if only put your mind at rest
  15. it's pretty simple to lay, just need to keep it from drying after it's laid. http://www.gardenersworld.com/how-to/projects/lawn-care-lay-turf/.
  16. Aye, i listened to that, didn't he actually state, without any shame, that buying a painting was possibly more important than funding kidney dialysis, due to the fact that the dialysis would, only benefit one person, the benefits would only last til they died anyway, whereas a painting last for ever for everyone's enjoyment??? heard it, but couldn't believe i did or believe he was serious, but he seemed to be
  17. keep practising yer arrows and get on bulls eye then
  18. so did I, and I agree with your critique, absolute shite, running from wind then walking backwards, trees communicating with each other to attack large groups and people queuing up to put their heads under lawnmowers etc. who the f?ck thought that plot would make good viewing.
  19. a gift to show you've thought about it and been practical whilst being easy to sort. 1 gift bag, put in, box of nappies, box of baby wipes, baby soap, baby shampoo, tub of sudacreme, cottonwool pack of babygrows, pack of baby vests, bib set or a mixture of any of them essentials, everything there will be useful and get used, and they will probably have enough teddies and be grateful for some practical stuff, you could also add teething ring, rattle, babies first cutlery set, first plate and cup set, first hairbrush set, this wont be needed straight away obviously, but will show you have thought of the next year and again all will get used. depending on how well you know the father, you could add in, as someone did to me, an "advice on vasectomy" leaflet and write on it "to save me buying all this shit again"
  20. http://www.victoriasclub.co.uk/ can't recommend this as i have never been, but, a girl who works for a local council I deal with works part time as a dancer there, which, if you knew what she looked like would be reason enough to go, and some of the site lads went, and by all accounts it was "different class", but like i say, i didn't go so only going off their say so.
  21. my oldest is one of 'em, 15 years old and never been to a match were we weren't a top flight club and has no recolection of us being anything other than one. oh, and to make you feel even older, he refered to the "white hot" times the other day as "that good cup run int' olden days" without a hint of sarcasm or mickey taking, that's what it is to him
  22. it is, can see another goal coming in injury time too
