  2. Might not be much use to you now, only just seen this, but Morrisons in Tyldesley had that in when i went in today, if you're up that way.
  3. still be my fault if i fell, whether i broke my arm or bruised my arse. after all, it would've been my free choice to attend the match on a wintry day when I knew there was ice on the ground.
  4. I wouldn't, seriously. in fact, if i fell, rather than going telling a load of other folk, and making a bigger twat of myself, I'd hope everyone else in the ground wasnt watching as I'd feel a right twat for falling and would want as few people as possible to know! wouldn't enter my head to sue anyone. basically, if I fell on ice, it's be my own fault, wherever that ice was.
  5. http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/society/britain-finally-realises-it-doesn't-need-students-201012103339/ may belong in the student riot thread, infact it may reflect some opinions on there, but very good
  6. I didn't speak to my wife for 6 months once.... we hadn't fell out, I just didn't like to interrupt
  7. " .....to get this club where it should be, challenging for honours"
  8. Sepp Blatter was asked who was his favourite Qatar player?, he replied "Eric Clapton"
  9. I recognise him and his initials are GW.
  10. Yep, I can see that, and have seen it, but see if you can spot the difference and explain the difference in the following, that's the bit i can't get. I understand where you are coming from but no, it's not the same. I'm talking about this culture we seem to have in Glasgow whereas we have a mob who, in an attempt show to flex their Irishness attach themselves to this club and the bigoted side of it's support. Next thing we know, they're singin the boys of the old brigade and shouting about 'orange bastards' and singing f@uck the queen, up the Ira etc......., You see, I cant see a difference, only a few words.
  11. Agree with most of that too, and as a Catholic, Irish descent Bolton fan can see were your'e coming from,(don't know whether that proves you point or f?cks it up tbh!) and fully accept the "my neck of the woods" explanation as to why the UVF etc don't feature on the hate radar as such, for my point of view, ANY twat who engages in that sort of activity should be stretching ropes, whether they're planting bombs in Warrington or Dublin, bombing bars full of catholics or protestants, doesnt matter, they're all cowardly shitheads. I don't think the young lad on the video is up to much harm to be honest imo, if he was singing at any other club dont think it would generate the same response, and tbh, i couldn't give a f?ck what or where he is singing. Tim, you have put above, (amongst other insults) " another nob head from Bolton who has latched on to Rangers", can I ask, what is the difference between an English man from Bolton Latching on to a pro British club, and an Irish man from Dublin say, or even Bolton, "latching on" to Cetlic? surely it's the same thing, just different persuasions?
  12. the fields of Athenry, is not a rebel song in the true sense. It's a fictional ballad, not a true story, it's only become political due to Celtic taking it on as an anthem, and adding a few words, so people assume is somehow shows support for that side of things, when in fact it's nothing to do with it and is about a time long before all that,(famine times) and could be just as easily about someone from Bolton who was shipped off to Australia for nicking corn or sheep etc, as a few were. It's used for years as Galway's anthem, which is as far away from being a IRA stonghold as Darcy Lever.
  13. didn't realise it was that sort of book to be honest, might get a copy. the poppy isn't a religious symbol as stated, but surley burning it on rememberence day could, even should be deemed as inciting something (I think some of the were) It's this type of thing that drives a further wedge as people see it as one lot getting away with insulting their culture, while any attack on the others makes the news and results in arrests etc.
  14. the bull isn't shut, the feathers is on Breightmet Fold lane though
  15. same here, gave him the money to get a season ticket with his mates "we're going in NSL Dad, we're not going to be Idiots corner Dad I only want to watch the football Dad , Not into all that shoes off stuff Dad please can I have a ticket with em Dad" gets the wife to agree, only for him to then come back with a ticket for under the scoreboard because "his mate forgot what they had agreed and got mixed up" now his facebook, which i think he forgets I can see, is full of statements like " at u with your shoes off giving that fat geordie shit " etc etc. so he now thinks the situation is under review but I suppose it's part of growing up and nowt I didnt do to a certain extent, just that my dad couldn't read it on facebook, even if I was stupid enough to put it on there regarding the WSL corner, I was there yesterday, and found it very amusing how irate some Geordies got, to a point of being thrown out, just from some in the corner doing not much more than pulling faces at them !
  16. hough fold, mainly, and all adjoining streets around there and South Drive etc, but works along Longsite also. gas mains. stich mi lane, tottington road and bradshaw brow, as well as tonge moor road and parts of crompton way up to now.
  17. a lot of major disruption jobs are planned for school holidays,on council insistence sometimes there is just not enough time, believe me, the grey hairs on my head are from tying to organise 3 months worth of work for the 6 week period the schools are off and the jobs need doing. I dont ask the utilities anything as I am the one doing the asking to the councils, the emergency card isn't played that much to be fair, but sometimes shit happens, half a meter difference in the plans can cause traffic chaos as we'd have to shut a road at short notice, council insist on 6 weeks but you can get an emergency if needed. sometimes it is a genuine emergency, but usually, in my case anyway, the council get plenty of notice. speaking of notice, and so it doesnt come as a surprise to you,if you live in Harwood, your going to be even more pissed off by roadworks next April, and I'd find a new route to Morrisons, dont say i didnt warn you
  18. they do in fairness, where possible, but not always possible either, all the utilities don't go in the same direction or at the same depth, but joint operations are carried out and planned where possible, I deal with this all over the place and in my experience, Bolton is one of the best at trying to minimise disruption, but in any case, if certain utilities say they need to dig up the road, then they dig it up and there isnt much the council can do about it,only be notified about it and insist the road is full width re surfaced if it comes under section 58. the council highways depts get all the flack for something they can only try and control, and i can tell you they are as keen as mustard with late fines certain jobs have to be done with a window of a few weeks,no matter how soon after someone else has been in there to do something else, and that doesnt take into account emergencies and the unexpected jobs that crop up. but people just see it all as "the council has dug up the road again!"
  19. of course, in that case 3" 4.5" &6 " then ( i think)
