  1. I'm sticking my neck out here but I'm going for a Cohen goal tonight. He must be due one - we must be due one! You heard it here first......just wait and see.
  2. Just wamted to add my own recorded welcome to Owen (already been told by 'er indoors that a child of ours won't ever be called Owen - will have to try Columba next!) I remember well him being out with the drinking lads in his era - McGinlay and Browny leading the way - in the waning days of Student Ritzy. Never missed a chance to have a quick (as quick as they made it) word with one or the others. Owen on his coca-cola's - always suspected they were laced with treble vodka's but that, as we now know, is not Owen's way. He always seemed a proper decent bloke with a rich fondness for the club ie: out talking with pissed-up-new-drinker-me on a night out, on driving duties also for his boozed up team mates. I wish him the best of luck
  3. The reason I feel Jewell is not the answer is mainly due to his last managerial post which, if you recall, was to rescue a Premiership team who were in relegation trouble. Sound familiar? What did he do? Made them a worse team by buying the likes of Robbie Savage on long-term and inflated contracts and proceeded to take them on a nightmare slide towards the old Division 3. Until they got rid...is that what you want? He did indeed do a terrific job at Wigan but, then again, so did Megson at WBA.
  4. Wish I'd had chance to see this thread before seeing the man himself tonight in the new Tesco's at the bottom of Deansgate, Manchester. He looked like he was getting his weekly shop (couldn't quite check his veg/fruit intake, alas) - couldn't resist the chance to congratulate him on his recent form though. Me: Ivan Klasnic! (just to make sure he knew that I knew - and to double check it was him) - brilliant last night, wasn't it Ivan: (just paying his bill but looking at me a little taken aback) Me: good to see you getting some minutes on the pitch - showing your class (Ivan Klassnic?) Ivan: (checking his change and organising his bags) - thanks Ivan: out the door and away Me: what a lovely guy! For the girls and boy-to-boy lovers, I reckon he will run Super Kev close in the heartthrob stakes - fit, lean and well turned out. Oh and maybe the bear hug upon greeting him may not have been the best thing to do in light of his transplant history. He now knows he's loved though, make no mistake!
  5. Gardner is brilliant to have coming off the bench, agreed. However, to say he doesn't deserve a place in our starting line-up when all things are equal, is ludicrous. And to suggest these people are halfwits indicates you need to address this accusation yourself. Remember his goal after a couple of minutes at the start of Spurs game?? Didn't think so Anyway, tonight is a celebration and a platform to build on. Couldn't be happier
  6. Well said, Henrick. And don't worry about making your point to him next time he serves you at Subway. A ban from that particular chain is probably a good thing!
  7. You're wrong, Athy, but don't let that put you off trying. I'm not arsed really - just sick of all the gloom and doom.
  8. ye, you've missed an apostrophe and an e in 'your' (sic) pal
  9. Aye that Meite fella really has got it all. Beware!!!
  10. EAST STAND LOWER TICKET JUST COME UP FOR GRABS from one of my mates. Would have to meet Turnstile I for 2.30 A tenner is the asking price
  11. Always said that Cohen was a good 'un! (where's the smiley showing a nose growing through blatant lieing)
  12. Ye, only ten years ago though. Police are still investigating.
  13. Cheers MG. They can have my extra two quid to put towards that elusive creative midfielder in the next transfer window
  14. Looking for prices and deadlines on the official website is good fun. Been on 5 minutes and still no confirmation of pricing for West Ham game. Can't imagine it helps! I'll be there anyway - one of those games that, if you can make it, time to show our true colours. Hope any of those fans who aren't going at this stage simply due to being pissed off with the atmosphere will make the effort as, I reckon, the lads have never needed picking up like this before. Come on you Whitemen
  15. I wonder why it is that the most antagonistic 'fans' of BWFC (you should be embarrassed of yourselves) are, nearly always, the worst spellers and, seemingly, the most simple of folk.
  16. Gavin McCann was definitely one of the more impressive performers today. He set up a good few chances for the forwards. The goons who constantly criticise, irrespective of contribution, need chining. They are bringing the club down.
  17. 'The Korean' has a name you know. Disgusting!
  18. More like 2.2m for Lee. Robinson is officially on-loan so perhaps a loan-fee has been arranged but he won't officially be a Bolton player until end of season - when his total fee will amount to more than 500,000 as they turned this offer down. Probably around the ?1m mark.
  19. Where is vicinity? Is it new? Thanks
  20. Like a bet, do we!
