As in 2016 SNP won 59 of 73 constituencies, plus just 4 additional members, the new party will have negligible direct effect on SNP but will almost certainly pick up more additional members and SNP+Alba may have a majority. The irony is that those seeking indepenence are best served by voting for SNP in constituencies and Alba in regions. Any SNP votes in regional additional seats will likely be wasted and certainly reduce Alba's impact. If the leaders simply throw mud at each other the Unionist parties may fare better. Even Galloway.
