  1. Pogba tested positive (for Covid19).
  2. Downgraded from the original charge. That's why he was allowed home. He'll be fined a couple of days' wages, maybe, plus the blot on his character (obv his transfer was a greater sin).
  3. Mike Ashley has just bought DW Sports Fitness for £37M.
  4. Wigan was a rugby town with no real football heritage when Wigan Borough became founder members of Div 3N in 1921. The placed was not earned as Wigan United /Wigan Association / Wigan Borough (three names in one season) finished 17th of 18 clubs in the Lancashire Combination in 1919-20. Champions for the first time were Chorley. The FA simply wanted to invade RL territory as they had previously done with Hull, Leeds, Huddersfield and Bradford. RL fans had no time for football clubs in the town.
  5. So Chorley v Bolton would be at DW?
  6. Wigan, Bury, Burnley, Oldham Preston, etc, etc, etc.
  7. MalcolmW replied to Cheese's topic in Other Sporting Chat
It would have to have been first registered in Edinburgh to begin with SN. jsl
  8. I was incommunicado in Bamburgh for several days. No phone signal, no paper shop, but at least I bumped into Brendan Foster - 25 years to the day since I last met him (in Gotherburg Airport). Whelan pulled the plug on Orrell RUFC. Wigan RFLC will do no favours for Athletic.
  9. And the 31st is a Bank Holiday.
  10. and before Gonzo asks, our league fixture pairing is with Exeter.
  11. BWFC XI v Newcastle u21s on 10th November.
  12. Pretty difficult season to squeeze in 5 extra midweek games!
  13. Trump will not concede defeat in any circumstance. A fake news story regarding Biden's health will start on Fox News a few days before the election.
  14. They might remember Wigan Borough, who lasted 8 games into 1931-32.
  15. Try googling the name - there really is another in the US of A.
  16. Grimsby hold the record crowd for OT (and they weren't playing ManU..).
  17. As did Ben Amos.
  18. MalcolmW replied to Rudy's topic in Behind The Stands
The original lockdown assumed a 90% observance. It was nearer to 99.5%. Now it might be 50%.
  19. Gordon Banks holds the Central League record for goals conceded, when he was a teenager playing for Chesterfield Reserves. They were no match for the leading Reserve teams playing in that league in the 50s, and were only there because of the influence of their chairman.
  20. I'm there 12th to 16th August.
  21. Swansea Brentford.
  22. Peter Green (of Fleetwood Mac).
  23. MalcolmW replied to Ani's topic in Terrace Talk
4 was Right Half, 5 Centre Half and 6 Left Half.
  24. MalcolmW replied to Rudy's topic in Terrace Talk
He invited players at their own expense and all other staff at his expense.
  25. It should be noted that when the school suspected she and her mates were being groomed by ISIS they sent letters to the parents ... to be delivered by the girls (it saved postage).
