  1. Is that us rushing the OB in the bottom photo? The lad in the wheelchair looks like a young Stephen Hawking leading the youth into the fray! The lad in the centre looks about to land a left hook on the copper.
  2. Show me that post commie!
  3. No excuse for it in this day and age.
  4. If its him versus Hilary he has almost a free ride into the White House.
  5. Lots of folk missing the point. Has he lost 160 mill of "his" own money?. On paper yes. There is a question..... did he ever liquidise those assets into a taxable form? Would he himself have ever been able to profit from those monies? For me he gave us good years, didn't himself lose megabucks, but left us with an unsustainable model once he backed out. This will be righted by the new regime. £28million on wages whilst clubs on less than half that are above midway in the league show mismanagement at all levels.
  6. Which club will be the first to reduce the away allocation to compensate?
  7. Thing that jumps out at me are the club to club salary comparisons of the Championship. Even Burnley are 2/3 of ours. Given the amount of seasons and player turnover since the premier league we should be considerably lower. My guess is that £27.6million will be under £10million this time next year.
  8. We intend to go again early June.
  9. Colin Murray and Steve Bunce on Talksport paying decent respect and covering it well today.

But he is still held in the highest esteem and even Flo jo is held up on some websites as still in the all top five USA track and field.

made me smile on another grim night for me about and and not about the footie! Remember i was stood under the floodlight in the Lever on the Burnden side as thats where the Rossendale lads preferred to stand. My sis was with us as she liked the banter and the pre match drinks and she came to the occasional big game. She lived (and still does) in Hindley Green and her hubby only turned out for Leigh RL so she enjoyed her infrequent visit to Burnden and the pre match beer table banter, She cannot walk now but listens to all sports on the radio. Brings a tear to my eye remembering she saying we would win when they scored when me myself was disconsolate, thinking it was Soton all over again

Malc Is it true that the golden boy of US athletics of the 80's Carl Lewis failed a drug test in the 1988 US Olympic trials but this was brushed under the carpet?

Magnesium deficiency eh? Probably one of the minerals that most people would find it nigh on impossible to be deficient in. Found in green leafy veg, nuts, brown rice, all bread especially wholegrain, fish, meat and bread and dairy foods. RNI is 270 mg a day for women. Most people should get ample from their daily diet.
  14. Very valid points. Its all very good saying the spiralling debt was all owed to one man. But losing 20 - 30 million per season was unsustainable regardless of circumstances. The club was still haemorrhaging money in the premier league. The owners of this business were derelict in their duty.
  15. What is sad for me is that all that great work done by that fantastic team under Rioch and Todd has been undone and we are back for a long spell in that god awful division. I spent most of the 80's and early nineties hoping one day we would rise again and I shed a tear in drunken bliss when we beat Preston that day. Every team will see a trip to the Macron as their highlight of the season and we will find it bloody hard.
  16. A trip to Accrington could be on the cards as well Bury and Rochdale.
  17. I realise you are the expert on this subject Traf but why in this case do you think he should have seen it out? I think I would have waited but those last four fixtures for me will end their hopes.
  18. Yep! Knows how to do it, that first season we stayed up we had no right with that team but he found a way. Mind Soton have just equalised but a draw there is a good result. McLaren sacked this weekend?
  19. MKD miss pen!
  20. Worldy from Harry Kane there.
  21. Then you are blind and may i suggest somewhat self guilty?
  22. I think the Claret Dingles will now pull away. said that through gritted teeth. Dingle Derby tomorrow, first one on a Sat for a while.
  23. This idiot turned around once up at Cloughbottom Reservoir. Took me 20 mins to travel that 1.25 miles.
  24. Good 2.5 inch here now, still coming down. Gonna attempt getting over the Moors to Tod station.
  25. Amazing website. Wonder what that place was back in the 70's when i used to pass by on the way back from school.
