  1. Nottingham Forest "City Ground all mist rolling in from the Trent" is pretty impressive just after KO when all four stands are belting it out...they also do a decent rendition to "You lost that loving feeling" The Baggies do a cracking "The Lord is My Shepherd" but they only do one verse and it sort of peters out. I know some of you begrudge it, but when Man Utd came to the Reebok they were always loud , probably the loudest visiting English supporters to visit. My one regret (and I am a season ticket holder of many years), is that I never did a European midweek game at the Reebok. Apparently there were some loud away followings, but midweek fixtures were always difficult when I was working and I sort of decided we were going to be in Europe for some time, so I would wait until we qualified for the Champions League and I could watch us playing Barca', Real Madrid, AC and Inter !!!!! How it all turned sour ! Anyway onto BWFC songs.... "When The Whites go Marching In" could sound impressive in the 70s...I remember us singing it in the snow at Goodison when Whatmore equilised. "We are the one and only Wanderers" at Boothferry Park on that Friday night was something else...it just never stopped As for an anthem ...I've always thought Bob Marley's "Get Up, Stand Up" would be pretty impressive , replacing rights with whites... or just leave it as rights...as it could be misinterpreted , although I am sure Bob would smile !!! If people have problem learining lyrics "jammin" is really easy ... I'd love a bit of ska or Reggea to be our anthem ... so easy to sing along to and sounds great when loads sing it together ..."One Love" people !
  2. Nobody knows much about this league, so all predictions are off. 3 points will do. I look at our line up and i havent got a clue yet as to whose who? Maybe i need to swot up a bit 😀
  3. It is a very thought provoking thread. Has anyone asked their black friends what they think abot BLM ? Has anyone ever been with a black person when they have been abused? It is a very upsetting experience. I was with one of my friends walking on the pavement a van pulled up alongside us and we were spat at ... it missed . FYI : No witnesses, no cctv , she is black , i am white. I experienced another issue on a bus, i confronted the abuser , a bit stupid as i am 60 something and he was in his 30s . He did it as he was getting off the bus , so verbally abused an old black guy and in effect ran off . Anyway thats my two penneth view. If anyone wants to take the knee it is OK by me. BTW , i do not see so much "noise" on a thread when the FA have there " rainbow laces" day ...players have rainbow laces and the corner flags are "rainbow flags" in support of LGBTQ+ . Does that tell us anything? Just saying / asking.
  4. Two big terraces behind the goal and on the side. How about The Valley ?
  5. Whatever colour that politicians was , he was spot on... whike he us at it he should have said so is the EPL / FA ... project restart what an hyter farce..asking players to play a contact sport while there is a pandemic virus , spread by contact ... fools
  6. Sky News breaking news ... bad news ...R is back to 1 ...not good at all
  7. I have read this topic for several weeks now .... Here are my thoughts .. We as supporters are not going to be sat in our seats ...or even stood in our seats .. during the year 2020. At best guess i would say august 2021. Should professional football at any level restart? Nobody appears to be counselling the footballers . Football is a contact sport, if i was a pro footballer i would not be putting my health in danger and that of my family by running around a pitch with 20 plus sweaty other men. These are young men , with children, pregnant partners . I would refuse to play .. It is a total joke to consider restarting. We cannot get students and children back in school safely , how on earth will you get footballers on the pitch in safety . The games in germany this weekend are going to be farcial. Life is too important. Cancel the season , mothball the clubs, until it is safe to restart. Oh and while we are at it sack Mr Onions . I dont want to see him in our dugout ever again . Was that a rant ..
  8. Yes , I do all home games , season ticket holder .... we had a few chances first half ...which was unusual ...creating chances .
  9. 0 - 0 against Accrington Stanley and people are getting excited. Shows how far we have fallen...Accrington Stanley ... and our keeper is our MOM Lincoln city ran us ragged a few weeks ago. Just saying . I cannot see any positives from yesterday .
  10. I don't understand why everyone was writing off this season back in August. Minus 12 points wasn't a big difference , all we needed to do over the course of a full season was win 4 more games than the team in the last relegation spot. His first game at Rotherham, albeit a team of some strangers , was pathetic , he should have had a game plane or even parked the bus for that first game (two banks of four), he did neither . When I watch us I have no idea what our tactics are . We are so slow moving the ball, but don't worry all we need to do according to " Mr. Onions" is make sure the players run in the right direction. I do all home matches and have done Rotherham, Lincoln and Doncaster away , I cannot see any future with Hill in charge. I've been watching us since I was 10, that's 52 years ago, I cannot remember being so disillusioned with how we play, the style of football. I've seen some dross in all those years but this is pitiful . Was that a rant ... perhaps
  11. +1 I normally go to MK , an easy drive down the M1, but the football with Hill in charge is just so poor, I couldn't be bothered. I will be at the Unibol with my season ticket , but that is just because I've got a ticket . I think i trust FV to bin him soon
  12. Good shout . I'd actually move him on once we are officially relegated...thanks for your efforts but it hasn't worked out ... Heard a Rochdale fan on BBC Manc , when i was driving home on a windswept m62 last night . He said we inherited the same hill that had lost the plot at 'dale ... everyone's fault but his , stupid press comments , tactical ineptitude ... in effect he was past his sell by date when he came to Bolton. Mcginlay, not always the best of pundits, was also scathing of hills team and tactics .
  13. On the field we have no organisation , no leaders , are tactically inept , midfield sit back, never press, wide open. We are hopeless , I put all that down to Hill . P45 for Hill will be a start . I don't enjoy the match day experience any more . Last night at Doncaster we just went through the motions . Only bit of cheer my half time hot drink Just one observation , off subject a bit. I've been to all our matches at the keepmoat and their stewards are always really friendly
  14. Spot on . Doncaster were awful and we were a shambles. Hill will take us to the conference, he is so out of his depth managing a club of our stature . I've seen nothing from him to convince me otherwise .
  15. All this nonsense about Hill having a " free hit / pass" , he walked into difficult circumstances etc. is all excuses . Our teams have no organisation, don't react to in game changes, we are so slow, we allow the poorest of teams to dominate play and possession . Every team we play look streets ahead if us . It's embarrassing watching us . Hill is out of his depth . It's also embarrassing listening to him talking to the press. He's by far the worst manager we've had at the reebok , macron , unibol .
  16. That was awful . I saw no organisation , I don't think the players knew what their roles / jobs were in the team . Lincoln players regularly ran 30 , yards with the ball unchallenged , no midfield challenges from us. We had a 5 minute spell when we won a few corners on the spin and that was just about it. Hill does not seem to be able to organise us and react to events on the pitch by changing tactics. I watched us tonight and had no idea what our game plan was . After 7 mins it was game over
  17. Brilliant ... made me laugh out loud after watching the debacle at Lincoln
  18. The interview was embarrassing . The reporter didn't ask any leading or difficult questions , Hill just went into his rant. We appear to have respectful, diverse and inclusive owners , Hill shows none of those attributes whatsoever. I felt it was a resignation speech .
  19. Aye west Brom 2 2 was a massive Coyle cock up. Notts county 6 bolton 1 in 1984 league cup at meadow lane was pathetic. We conceded 5 goals in 7 mins . It may have been all 6 . It was utter shambolic ...decent midweek following too on the wooden terraces of now jimmy sirrel stand . We've seen some shite watching Lennon , Coyle and Parkinson. Burton away 3 0 was a modern day nightmare
  20. I went to Burton, cracking game , both teams playing pass and move footie. Every bwfc player was assured on the ball and confident. Stand out performances. Keeper Alexander , a penno save with last kick of match on 90 mins to keep us in the cup. He is going to be a top keeper Centre halves senior and Richards were a good pairing . Wingers lockett and king harmes, were both really skilful and pacey, White in midfield reminded me of a Peter Reid type player hard , picked a good pass and sometimes ran direct at the defence . Toure was hard to knock off the ball when in possession . One thing I wasn't impressed with was when brown sterling was subbed Spooner shouted aggressively at him as he went to the dugout, saying he didn't shake hands properly. I thought it was poor from spooner , he humiliated the lad. He was upset about it in the dugout . All that was needed was a quite word . It upset me !! Two of Burton shoot out pennos were john Terry style ... slipping on the approach and shooting really wide . One nearly hit the corner flag. Both were left footed and standing foot slipped . Not nice for the two young lads . Really cold evening . I think they should have gone to penalties at 90 mins. The extra 30 mins seemed to be a big ask after 90 mins. Several players went down with injuries in the extra 30 . More enjoyable game than my last visit there with the wanderers .
  21. My ticket for today was row A . I would have been wet walking to the ground pre match and rained on for all the match too. Don't know what to do now for the rest of the afternoon 💦☹
  22. Fabulous afternoon at the unibol. There's a great pic on the official bwfc page. A team pic b4 kick off . They look so young . Great atmosphere all of the ESL was rocking
  23. Will print at home read a smartphone barcode . I have no printer
  24. The 1 million was to allow the club to start trading again, I didn't read it as a transfer kitty
