  1. Jonathan Liew was asked his opinion on this on the Guardian Weekly podcast. He's half Asian I think so clearly targeted. Basically saying yep throw the book at him. But later made a comment that when folk make the same lazy stereotypes (as Bentancur) about him e.g. being good at maths, Liew finds it "annoying". No more than that. So he's more offended on behalf of Son than when he receives the same treatment.
  2. The more relevant issue with Twitter is WTF am I getting far right content on my Twitter news feed. Elon's algorithms working overtime. The only politics account I follow is Rest is Politics so if anything it should be centre left/right content.
  3. Think his popularity went up after that.
  4. https://www.farmersweekly.co.nz/markets/price-cuts-on-nz-lamb-rile-uk-farmers/ Reckons supermarkets use NZ lamb as a loss leader. Also reckons demand for UK lamb from Europe/US is pushing prices higher Given the cost of everything in NZ I'd be very surprised if production costs lower. Fuel is a bit cheaper but not much. The mega farms in NZ are dairy. Fonterra is NZ's biggest company.
  5. Aye, and John Barnes.
  6. Company I used to work at had regular training seminars and one time a piling company came in to give a presentation. He was telling us he had a job at the home of Rolf Harris. Anyway, on residential jobs they have to take great care with the equipment as they're typically very tight spaces. They're wheeling in this piling rig slowly round a corner, this fella stood next to Rolf inevitably says "can you tell what it is yet?" Biggest tumbleweed moment of his life. Not a flicker.
  7. I read he has 3 biological children with the mother of the stepdaughter. So it's a real clusterfuck.
  8. No shit
  9. https://www.factcheck.org/2023/08/scicheck-factchecking-robert-f-kennedy-jr/ Kennedy also played a part in one of the worst measles outbreaks in recent memory. In 2018, two infants in American Samoa died when nurses accidentally prepared the combined measles, mumps and rubella, or MMR, vaccine with expired muscle relaxant rather than water. The Samoan government temporarily suspended the vaccination program, and anti-vaccine advocates — including Kennedy and his nonprofit — flooded the area with misinformation. The vaccination rate dropped to a dangerously low level. The next year, when a traveler brought measles to the islands, the disease tore through the population, sickening more than 5,700 people and killing 83, most of them young children.
  10. Think he meant the actual leaving EU.
  11. Sonny Sharples Ahmed? Multiculturalism working then 🙂
  12. It's my route to the EU too. Bout time she came in handy.
  13. Know a Kiwi fella. His grandmother is from Northern Ireland which means he's eligible for an Irish passport. So he lives in Spain ironically with his British missus who can't legally live (alone) in Spain due to Brexit. But she can as partner of an EU citizen.
  14. On the subject of 80s football Maradona getting kicked.... a lot
  15. Only thing I'd add to that is make sure contributions are into a decent fund. I paid 15 years (99-2014) into a fund recommended by the guy from the pensions company. It was worth 60k, I'd contributed almost that. Still bitter about it. It's worth a lot more now with no extra contributions as I researched growth rates in funds.
  16. Not often governments defend fans involved in football violence either. Can't imagine a UK govt doing it!
  17. He scrapped the idea over one year before he was elected.
  18. He dropped that policy in May 2023. Are any of these "gotchas" from after then?
  19. Same here I just don't get them at all.
  20. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2024/nov/05/biggest-onshore-windfarm-energy-cubico-scout-moor-greater-manchester Big plans for wind power on Scout Moor, visible from Bolton I think?
  21. Probably allowed a quick look
  22. <huggy bear voice> "my man's got some pimp shoes on!" Talking about Pope John Paul ll
  23. Just reading the fella died.. https://www.instagram.com/p/DBepMxjCIjf/
  24. No way she's the leader by the next election. Under even the mildest scrutiny, she can become aggressive, lashes out and starts speaking utter shite. Her comments about autism were shameful. Total liability and another Tufton St shill to boot. Tories haven't changed a bit.
