Thomason has 2 more years

Not saying it pleases me but thems the facts

Means Salford might pay us £75k for him rather than go on a free.

We can't get rid of everyone!

I’ve actually just been thinking of who I’d keep and it leaves us with 11/12 players 😂

Defenders - Santos, Toal, Jones, Iredale, (Williams as back up, just about) - this assumes selling Johnston to bring some cash in.

Midfielders - Morley, Dempsey, Sheehan

Forwards - Charles, Vic, JDB

Keep JBD and Sheehan, think Lee has one more year left in him, on his day he's our best player but seems to be getting injured more frequently. Unsure on Thomason, good for squad depth i suppose.

Seen Thomason for 2 years now and I really just don't see it, he works hard as everyone does but what else does he bring?

He's not as technical as Lee or Sheehan, won't win us a game by a goal or an assist like Dempsey won't fight or be as aggressive as MJ, and he's not got something in his locker like Morley does.

I'm certain there are better players than him available.

He’s not good enough. There are plenty of 22 year olds with a great attitude, doesn’t mean you’d have them in the squad. “Getting better” is probably correct, albeit from a low bar - he’s a national league / league 2 player and if we want to go up then we need a better quality of player within the wider squad (not just the first 11).

I’d keep Sheehan and get rid of Lee (sadly), MJ and Thomason. Gives us Morley, Dempsey and Sheehan and then we need to add some proper depth and quality.

I like Thomason and think he is good enough for this level, and not just because of his attitude. Just goes to show we all see the game differently.

But we are stuck with Jerome, John and R Williams unless we could loan them out

I suppose

In all the speculation about incomers, and we obvs need some, im equally interested to see if we hold on to our assets

Johnston, morley, santos may attract interest

No doubt john will be let go on a free

Bit soon for toal

Forgot dempsey

Him too, but theres a bit of baggage

Our best player is santos, btw

Even if you just ask him to defend and not start every move!

Amazing isn’t it. Before Xmas everyone was saying they couldn’t see what he brought. Just shows what a bit of a run and confidence brings

I'm thinking this way about Victor, a full pre season hopefully finding his place and his role. There's got to be a player in there for us somewhere

Jerome was the puzzling one for me with the length of the deal
