Exactly, I’ve no worries about the strikers doing their part but what a midfield we have now. Make no mistake this was a good team we played today and we bested them despite giving away at least two stupid goals. Come on Whites bring on Lincoln now.

Decent game mixed bag of positives & negatives for me

Cogley, Forrester & Dempsey good performances and Charles has an engine, Morley doing well again when coming on 

sloppy defending at times and I don’t know what Dan brings to the table strange signing for me

improvement on each pre season game so hopefully all good for Lincoln

Decent workout.

4 cracking goals - 3 from midfielders and 1 from a defender. They had those chances because the forwards ran their socks off to occupy the Baggies defence. Best of all is we weren't shot shy.

Defensively we learned that Baxter hasn't got a left foot and Ashworth has a bit to learn about tracking and positioning.

Everything you want a pre-season friendly to be

- 4 goals

- A win

- a good workout against a team a level above

- Some great finishes

- New players looking good - Forrester, CMG, Cogley 

- Some players looking like they have stepped up - Williams especially 

- A controversial one to finish with, but 3 goals conceded. You need this to be happening pre-season, gives you something to address, something to improve on

I agree and probably why Declan’s almost certainly on the way out sadly.

I assume John is on a decent wage as well. Would be nice to have one of the academy coming through, hope he gets more opportunities.

You’re probably right hopefully they will have a look at the positional play because all the goals could have been avoided and it gives them something to work on .
It is a new back 5 with Johnstone being out and Bradley gone so might take a bit of bedding in 

Went with my Father in Law who's a baggy. Safe to say that he thought that was their strongest starting 11 and he thinks we've nothing to worry about going into the next season.

We'll be reet at the back when Toal and Iredale return. Ashworth was partially responsible for the first 2 conceded but I reckon he'll get it right with time, however it will be a while before he gets a regular start. Midfield looked good today but I still think we need more - maybe the prospect of that happening encouraged them to step up?

Big takeaway for me was them having licence to shoot from outside the box - won't always come off but it will give defences something else to think about and pull a few out of a packed box - whereas last season defences just sat very deep because they knew we'd try to walk it into the goal. All in all a very good afternoon's work and I'm looking forward to seeing my condescending Baggie mates in the pub

What was the attendance today? Looked low.

 

Also - do bookings in friendlies mean anything?

Started for the B Team earlier in the day in their 3-0 win v's Everton's academy. U18's bummed Tranmere's kids 7 nowt too
