It's only just clicked that the Newcastle Sporting Director, Dan Ashworth, who's about to join Stretford, is Zac Ashworth's dad.

I suppose I'd been aware as the lad joined us, but had forgotten.

aye, he started off at West Brom as well working up from assitant youth coach to technical director and was there when Zac joined aged 10

Cambridges manager has gone to Millwall..

right before Cambridge's biggest match of the season

Harris had two stints as a player at Millwall and this will be his second as a manager (as well as caretaker and U21s)

Can't think of another manager to have managed three teams in one season.

He was sacked from Gillingham in October, joined Cambridge in December and now he's back at Millwall.

I like the guy, tbh, though he's a bit full-on with his shithousery.

Tuchel gone at Bayern

interesting summer for Alonso, assume he'll have the pick of Bayern & Liverpool

I hope he fucks Bayern off

its one thing that they just nab the best players from other budesliga teams, but managers as well, fuck em

Going up a division each time too, despite not exactly pulling up any trees!  Maybe if he can do a fair to middling job at Millwall for a couple of months he'll end up at West Ham before the season's out

Eddie Howe's name might be appearing in this thread soon

Was funny when the Saudis took over, Newcastle fans claiming to be the richest club in the world and all would be good

They forgot about FFP

And now it's rumoured they may have to sell the likes of Guimareas and offer contracts to Sean Langstaft

I'm not sure that's how it was meant to be

Schumacher at Stoke be the next one. They aren’t having him at all. Players or fans. Interviewed Big Sam apparently before the went with Schumacher and they’ve got him lined up again

They're like Sunderland in that practically everyone who goes there fails

Everyone could see how this would play out including Schumacher I suspect. If I remember right @green genie Quoted tripled or quadrupled wages and a move home. What a gig for a few months work in any other industry. His stock will still be decent and his family far better off.

I would more likely see Sam there. That said the ownership at Sunderland might not be too in to him.

Yeh it’s rotten from the top down. Coates has an open cheque book and has the best intentions but gets too involved in stuff he hasn’t a clue about and they sacked the DoF last week who was pretty much running the show and signed 24 players last summer. He allegedly told Schumacher the other week he isn’t there to pick the team just coach them as that’s his title 👀

Ashworth was running the football side of things and was very much about stability and long term plans so whilst he was there Howe was pretty safe

However with him on gardening leave and off to Utd the board are having to start again they might think it's time for a clean slate

I said about Howe around 12 months ago he’ll be the next England gaffer. It was just after they’d qualified for the CL. Fan expectations have gone through the roof so finishing in the top 10 isn’t enough anymore and the club will be looking at a name (mourinho probably) who they think can get them to the next level regularly. They will overlook the fact in the grand scheme of things they’ve spent no money. Or the fact Howe has improved many of the players and they’ll get rid

He’s on 1.2M a season up there. Despite him leaving us , be sad to see him binned so quickly and have to reset back when given another chance in L1.
